Lol so this sucks, but I'm trying to hurry up and get all of these done before Christmas Eve and this has been the BUSIEST week of my life. I'll try to get a couple up tomorrow, and I'll try to update Sunday, Monday and Tuesday but I'll be out of town so I'll have to write them ahead of time. Exams are over, and the lowest grade I recieved was a 93% in Spanish II. I'm so proud of myself because I got a perfect on my Bio exam and I studied (and cried) so much for that damn thing. I'm just super relieved to be on break.

Anyway, I hope you enjoy! :)

"Shawn, will you please just tell me where we're going?" I begged my boyfriend. I was brushing out my hair and he stood in the middle of the door frame with a smirk across his lips. "Please?" I whined again. He shook his head and walked out of the bathroom. I frowned and looked in the mirror. He had told me to wear something warm, so I bundled up and topped my outfit off with boots and a scarf. I walked out into our bedroom and slipped on my coat as well. "If you just tell me I'll stop whining," I was trying to convince him but he stood his ground.

"Not happening," he kissed my forehead and I rolled my eyes. We walked out of our hotel room and made our way to elevator.

"Well, is it somewhere far away? Is it outside?" I asked. He shrugged his shoulders and I leaned up against the wall of the elevator. I let out an overexaggerated sigh. He knew I hated suprises, and so he always tried to surprise me with something--it never failed. "Shawn, I'm desperate, please just tell me!"

"All I can tell you is that you're going to love it," he looked at me with a cheeky grin and his brown eyes glimmered. I frowned slightly and when we were out of the elevator I made sure that my coat was buttoned to brace myself for the outside. He opened the door and a gust of wind chilled by us. I shivered and he held me close to him as we walked down the busy sidewalk.

We were staying in New York City for a few days before we went to spend time with his parents for the holidays. It was freezing and everytime you walked outside your nose was as bright as the red light on the traffic signals. He stopped and whistled for a taxi. One braked immediatley. He smirked at me and pulled me along with him to the cab. He must've slipped and told the driver where to go before I was fully inside the car. I looked outside the window at all of the attractions New York City had to offer. Snow fell peacefully, people were all rushing around on the sidewalks and the holiday lights along with the lit up buildings gave life to the night sky. I sighed and felt a hand on my thigh. I looked over to see Shawn with a soft smile on his face.

"I've heard a lot about this place, and I think you'll love it. You've always talked about doing something similar," he said. He was trying to hint to me what it was, but I wasn't catching on. There were many things that I always talked about doing. I tried to contemplate where he could be taking me but there was nothing that was coming to me. I continued to watch the active city streets but I was interrupted by being thrown forward and nearly colliding with the seat in front of me.

"Oops, sorry about that," the driver apologized for abruptly locking on the breaks.

"It's alright," I smiled softly. I regathered myself and continued to look out the window. "Can you at least tell me what city we're going to?"

"Nope, strictly confidential," he grinned.

We pulled up to a large sign that was lit up beautifully Bronx Zoo is what it read. "Shawn why are we at the zoo at this time of night?" I asked confused. But then it hit me. "Holiday lights!" I shouted. Shawn and the driver winced. "Sorry," I smiled bashfully. He paid the tip and we walked with the crowd and up to the ticket booth. I was smiling uncontrollably and excitement completely flowed through my body. I had always wanted to come see lights at a zoo, but never was able to. Every Christmas since I had been with Shawn I mentioned it time after time.

"I knew you would love it," he smiled. I kissed his cheek and we walked on the pavement. There were colored lights in the trees, colored lights on all of the signs, and it all looked so magical and beautiful. We walked past the exhibits that shone bright with colorful red, blue, purple, orange, and pink lights. There were so many colors and it was all so captivating.

"This is so beautiful," I said in sheer amazement. He held my hand and I looked up at him. He was staring down at me intently. "Thank you for bringing me here," I smiled. He reached into his pocket and pulled out a little blue box. My eyes grew wide and the box was wrapped with a glittering silver ribbon. It was too large to be a ring box--which I was thankful for, don't get me wrong I loved Shawn but we were way too young. "What's that?" I asked with curiosity lingering all throughout my voice. He handed the box to me and I opened it without hesitation. The most beautiful box was inside and it glittered when all of the lights hit it. I gasped. "Shawn!"

"Do you like it?" He asked with a beaming smile.

"I love it, oh my gosh!" I shouted excitedly. He chuckled.

"Here, I'll help you put it on," he said. I lifted up my hair and moved my scarf out of the way. The cold material rested my collar bone and neck. He had it on securely and smiled down at it and then back up at me.

"You are amazing," I grinned while shaking my head. He had brought me to a wonderful, and beautiful place and topped it all of with a gorgeous necklace. We continued walking, admiring all of the stops and he even stopped to get us hot chocolate. "Did you purposely bring me to New York for this?"

"Well and other things of course," he shrugged. "I wanted to do something special for you. You deserve it. A beautiful girl like you deserves the most beautiful things the world has to offer." He kisses my cheek and I feel myself blush lightly.

For the rest of that night we walked, talked and were completely captivated by all of the scenery. He always had a way of making me feel so special.
