Happy birthday @maddie_cowgirl! Here's a special (and long) Sammy imagine :) Hope you have an awesome day!
______________
I came home to any empty house and something felt off. My house was never empty, it was always filled with people whether those people being Sam and his friends, or some of my girl friends. I walked through all of the downstairs rooms...nothing. "Hello?" I yelled out. There was no response except for the sound of the cieling fan running. "Hmm." I shrugged and sat my bag down and jogged up the stairs. "Sammy?" I walked into our bedroom but he wasn't there. "Great, ditch me on my birthday," I rolled my eyes. When I went to turn around I saw something out of the ordinary on my bed. I narrowed my eyes and casually walked around to see what it was. There I found a light pink card surrounded by rose petals. I opened the card and carefully read it.
Maddie,
Thought I would switch things up this year and make you find your surprise. All over town you will find clues to where I will be with your birthday surprise. Meet me by seven.
Taped to the back of the car was a slip of paper with his handwriting on it. When I think of you I think of all things beautiful like tides crashing against your ankles, and the smell of salt water in the air. Go to the place where I first laid my eyes on you.
I smiled and knew exactly where he wanted me to go. The Jacks beach house. I grabbed my keys and phone telling Nate to meet me there. He could help me with the clues. I set off for the beach house that was about ten minutes out of town and listened to the new single Sammy and Skate had just released. When I arrived at the beach house Nate was already there and waiting on the front porch. "What's up?" He asked as I approached him.
"Do you know anything about this?" I asked handing him the piece of paper with the clue scribbled on it. He shook his head. "Sam's doing this for my birthday, it's a scavenger hunt. I have to be finished by seven," I explained.
"I see, well let's get rollin' then," he clasped his hands together and I dug through the potted plant and pulled out the spare key. "What does the clue say?"
"Go to the place I first laid my eyes on you," I said looking around confused. "I met him here at a party the Jacks were hosting. Remember? I came with you, and I went off to the kitchen to grab a drink and- the kitchen!" I shouted excitedly. We walked - well Nate walked, I ran - into the kitchen and sure enough on the counter was another slip of paper. Congratulations, but it only gets harder from here. There's always a first for everything.
"There's always a first for everything?" Nate asked reading over my shoulder. "What the hell does that mean?"
"First for everything," I said thinking out loud. First date. First kiss. First 'I love you.' "Let's go," we rushed out of the beach house seeing that we only had a couple hours to go and God knows how many more clues left.
"Just drop me back off here when we're finished," he said climbing into the passenger seat of my car. I nodded and we left for the place where Sammy and I had our 'firsts.'
"Do you see anything?" I asked as we walked around on the cliff side. Sammy took me here for our first date, and it was also the place he kissed me the first time. Months later he brought me back to the exact spot and told me he loved me.
"Wait, I got something," Nate said walking over to a rock. He picked up the pale pink sheet and read off what it said. "You're good at this, babe. Way down yonder, the place you go to ponder." Nate looked at me. "What kind of drugs was he on when he wrote this?" He asked causing me to laugh. "The place you go to ponder? Where do you go to think?"
