Cassie POV

I smiled to myself; for the first time in a while I was happy and relaxed. Harry had survived the First Task, The Yule Ball was coming up and Draco and I were still friends, despite making out with him under the influence of Webbed Weed. Best of all-no one had found out about it.

I practically skipped down to breakfast, already washed and dressed. Normally I waited until the last possible moment to get up and ran down in an old robe to eat before getting ready for class. But nothing could ruin my mood.

I slid on the bench opposite Harry and next to Hermione who both looked surprised to see me.

"You're up?" Harry asked smiling, "What's the big occasion? Got a date for the Yule Ball?"

I smiled back at him, "Oh I don't know, I'm just in a good mood." I looked up to catch Malfoy's eye from the Slytherin table, but he wasn't looking for once, "And nope, no date. Yet..."

"Ooh," Harry raised his eyebrows, "Sounds ominous..."

"Yeah it does..." said Hermione suspiciously, flicking disgustedly through the copy of "Witch Weekly" Parvati had shoved in her hand, demanding she read. She suddenly paused on a page and looked so shocked she dropped the coffee she was passing me all over her lap.

"Whoa Hermione," I caught the mug and waved my wand over her skirt but she brushed my hand away impatiently, "Never mind that."

I furrowed my eyebrows looking at Harry, "What's up?"

He shrugged and returned to his cornflakes so I turned back too and began helping myself to a fresh coffee.

She suddenly slammed the magazine shut and looked at me half-worried half-furious, "Hermione what is it?" I asked confused.

She thrust the magazine at me, "Check out page 5."

"Huh?" I grabbed it from her rifling through, my fingers shaking so I struggled to turn the pages. My eyes widened over the headline: THE OTHER POTTER-GOLDEN GIRL OR GOLD DIGGER? accompanied by a large photo of me smiling nervously next to Harry when he'd completed his first task.

"What in the-" my voice trailed off as my eyes scanned over the subheading. Of course it was written by that dreadful Skeeter woman.

"Famous Triwizard Champion Harry Potter's sister Carrie already had to compete with having no special powers or a place in the tournament, may now be planning to move up in the world, Rita Skeeter can exclusively reveal."

What is she on about? I thought, turning to the first paragraph. Fancy getting my name wrong too.

"Potter, a plain looking red headed girl in comparison to her brother, is growing tired of repeatedly being shoved out of the spotlight by her special brother and has decided to try something new. Many claim her to be academically gifted yet her school disciplinary record suggests she is not so much the innocent Potter after all, frequently receiving detentions."

"Where is this going?" I asked Hermione, looking over at Harry who looked confused.

"What is it?" he urged, leaning over and I spotted Dean and Seamus craning their necks to listen in too.

"Read it out," Hermione said grimly nodding at Harry and I took a deep breath, turning back to the article.

"It appears that Potter may be moving away from her modest background and turn her attention towards the wealth of Draco Malfoy, the son of the wealthy Malfoy couple. Skeeter can exclusively reveal Potter's disappointment in being turned down by Mr Malfoy when asking for his hand to the Yule Ball, the annual Triwizard tradition."
