BAKUGO'S POV
I lost. And to make things worse, that nerd Deku is the one IcyHot is intimidated by. Thinking Deku is the secret prodigy of All Might! He's just a worthless bug! I'll get Shoto to use his left side. Thinking I'm not strong enough to beat him while he uses only 50%?!I walk away with my head to the ground as I move back towards the waiting room. I can't help but clench my jaw and my fists. I feel like punching someone. I feel-,
My thoughts are interrupted as someone bumps into me as I round a corner.
"WHAT THE HELL!" I yell ready to blast this idiot into the dirt.
"Whoa, chill Hothead." She laughs. I look at her and she's still dressed up in her costume, a smile on her face and two trays of food. "You almost made me drop them." She says handing me one.
I sigh and take it. I probably would've forgotten to fuel up. "Sorry."
She cocks her head at me and sighs. "Come on, let's go find a quiet place for you to vent so people don't think you're killing someone." She starts to walk out of the halls towards the more grassy areas. She sets her food down at a picnic table and sits.
I sit with her and start eating. "How are the pros? Everything as glamorous as you hoped?" I ask trying not to let my anger rub off on her.
She shrugs taking her mask off. "I met a few and they were really nice and gave me a lot of tips about how to present myself."
I raise my eyebrows, not entirely interested. "Sounds great."
HAZE'S POV
He's seems so discouraged. Usually he's fired up, but he's lost two matches in a row and I'm sure it's getting to him."Hey," He looks at me. "You were incredible out there. I thought Present Mic was going to burst everyone's eardrum with how much he was raving about you." I try to reassure him.
"I lost. What's there to be excited about?" He grips his chopsticks tightly.
I shake my head. "Are you kidding? You totally changed the course of the game by knocking those 1-B idiots down to size." I'm trying to speak his language, hoping that'll get through to him.
"Did you know IcyHot is Endeavor's son?" He asks.
"I just found out today. He's pretty intense." I say taking a bite. His head perks up.
"You met him?" He asks shocked.
I sigh. "Yeah, he insulted me like six times, called Shoto a child like three times, and then told me he was going to take me under as an intern. It was a roller coaster of a conversation."
He slams his utensils down. "What?" Oh boy.
"Look, it's really not that big of a deal. In fact it makes perfect sense. He has a fire quirk and his son is helping me train." I shrug.
He scoffs. "Why do you do that?"
"Do what?" I ask.
He points at me accusingly. "That. You always take things that are a huge deal and dismiss them as if their common happenings. You did it that first day of school and you're doing it now."
I groan. Why does he have to be so difficult? "I don't know, okay. It's just how I cope. Can we just drop it, please? I really don't want to fight." I ask. I really only wanted to talk about him. After this morning, I couldn't really get him out of my head. He's so different. He's smarter than he lets on, for sure. He talks tough, but he can be so soft, not that I'd let him know that. I can tell he's not feeling himself right now and I don't know how to help.
He picks his utensils up and keeps eating.
BAKUGO'S POV
That's so annoying. How can she not be excited to be scouted by the number two hero? I would be rubbing it in people's faces. She doesn't even want to talk about it. And why even bring it up? Just to get me riled up and show off that she barely needs to try to secure an internship? No. She isn't like that. She knows how much this means to me. She's my friend.
