He's Lying

I hardly had any time to spend with Shoto since Iida's match ended so abruptly. I grabbed a bottle of water and went back to the box to watch the rest of the fights. It's much quieter in there and darker.

It wasn't easy to watch the other matches. Bakugo KO'd Kirishima, who started with such a strong lead, and Iida almost had Todoroki with these crazy powerful kicks. Tokoyami's surrender to Bakugo was not expected. He's a great fighter, but his Dark Shadow couldn't hold up against all of the light.

BAKUGO'S POV
I kicked open the door to my waiting room only to see that damned, two-tone hairpiece sitting there.

"Hey what the hell are you doing in here? This is my waitin-," I stop yelling as I read the sign that says 'Waiting Room 2'. Dammit. I groan and approach him. "Don't think that I'm not prepared to kick your ass after everything you've done." I threaten. "You better bring all you got to this match!"

He looks to me. "What are you talking about?"

His ignorance irritates me more. I kick the table away. "Don't mock me, asshole! You're plan didn't work! I gotta say, I'm surprised you were able to get Haze to push far enough to kiss me, but I read between the lines! I'm winning this match despite your pathetic attempts-,"

He's laughing. WHY THE HELL IS HE LAUGHING?

"So that's what she was so upset about." He leans back in his chair. "I really can't figure out what she sees in you." He shakes his head.

I narrow my eyes. "I told you, that's not going to w-,"

He stands up. "Listen to me, Bakugo. There was no plan, there was never any plan. I would never subject Haze to something like that. And she would never agree to it even if I asked. She put her complete trust in us, in you, by sharing her most vulnerable moment and you still can't help but put your ego before everything."

He's lying. He has to be lying.

I get in his face and he doesn't move.

"Don't you dare hold back out there." I warn. "Use your flames on me. I want everyone to know I beat you at your best." I walk out, slamming the door behind me.

He's lying. This was all a trick, but it didn't work. My knuckles turn white, but I can feel the pain caused by the strain I put on it during those last few fights.

Once I win, none of this will matter.
