Those two off days gave Shoto and I plenty of time to bond more. We actually were able to train for once. It has definitely become easier since our first session. He tries not to push me so hard, even when I urged him to.
"Just try to get in my head." I state.
He sighs. "I'm not going hurl insults at you. That doesn't seem right."
"You know that the only way she'll gain control is if these triggers don't have an effect on her." Aizawa mentions.
"He's right!" I prepare my stance. "Now, come on." I urge him.
He groans and starts throwing ice at me, saying nothing.
"Say something!" I complain as I dodge his attacks with ease.
And he did...but it didn't work. He was too reluctant and nothing in his voice held any hate.
"This isn't going to work." Aizawa pinches the bridge of his nose over his bandages.
"So what can we do?" I ask.
He sighs. "I don't know yet. I'll come up with something." He says as he inside.
Shoto and I trained for a few hours or so. By the end we were both exhausted. I had exerted so much power for such a longer period than I'm used to. My stamina is not up to where I need it to be. My relaxed temperature has increased and I'm definitely feeling the effects of heat exhaustion. Aizawa got me a cold, wet blanket to cover me and Shoto got a hot towel. We just laid on the grass trying to relax our breathing.
He told me about his mother. He had taken the first half of the day to visit her alone. When he finally came over it was like he was floating. He told me all about her and just like I suspected, she was proud of him. I think it gave him plenty of closure.
I eventually told him about what happened with Katsuki and he mentioned how he screamed at him before their match. I wasn't surprised at all. I decided to just ignore Bakugo all together. I obviously have to come into contact with him at school, but I have pushed my feelings for him as deep as I could. Right now, he is nothing more to me than an another classmate. It'll be better for my sanity as well as his safety.
I walked with Aizawa to class. He held an umbrella over us and seemed a bit more chipper now that his bandages were off. Not chipper like a normal person, but more like he was back to his old, tired self.
"I bet it feels good to finally scratch your nose." I remark. "That would've drove me crazy."
"It wasn't an issue." He starts. "Have you thought about what I said yesterday?"
"You hate Endeavor! Why would you want him to be my mentor? And why would I want to work with someone in the future who insults me at every chance he gets?"
He leans back in his chair as I grab him a plate of food. "I don't have the energy to hate him. You can't deny that he could be beneficial to your training."
I set our food down and sit with him. "But I-,"
"No buts." He stops me. "The school can't just let any pro take you under their wing. Not for your first time, anyway. He's experienced with your type of quirk and he already knows what you can do. It's not that much of a surprise since he invested in you."
"So because he put some money down for UA's bid, I owe him?"
He groans and puts his head down on the table. "Please, just give it a chance. If he makes it too unbearable, we can pull the plug, deal?"
I sigh. "I don't know."
"I trust your judgement." I admit. God, I'm so going to regret this. "If you're not worried I'll blow up due to his bluntness and lack of empathy than I'll do it."
