TODOROKI'S POV
As the chief lectures us, we all felt angry. How could he not have understood what we were doing? While we can avoid punishment, his reprimanding words made it sound like he would have preferred we stayed out of it, which would've led to the deaths of more heroes.

I had more to say, more insults to hurl at his rationale, but we haven't gotten to see Haze this entire time. No one has given any updates.

"Is she, is she okay?" I hold my breath and tighten my fists as I prepare for what they'll say. Her injuries were bad and the amount of blood lost was an obvious indicator that she was in a dangerous predicament.

The chief sighs. "They are doing what they can."

Iida seems to fall back onto the hospital bed, sitting at the edge with a look on his face I can't describe. I hate all of these vague details.

"What does that mean?" Midoriya asks, a bit frantic as his eyes water.

"When she signaled the others, she didn't have much energy left. It took every bit of control for her to do that." Gran Torino starts. "They can't perform surgery on her.  She was delirious, screaming at the doctor's, only making her wound worse. They had to induce a coma just to stitch her up, and even then her body still tried to fight them. Producing flames involuntarily. It was the only way."

My eyes go wide. "She was stabbed in stomach and you're telling me all they did was put a band-aid on it?" My voice rises.

Torino rubs his eyes. "I'm sure all of you are somewhat aware of what she went through after the fire. After months of torment and excess exposure to sedatives, her tolerance is too high and her body has adapted to protect herself even when she isn't conscious. They wouldn't be able to put her under, meaning she would be awake for it all."

Nobody says anything.

"If she's awake..." Midoriya says quietly. "They won't be able to touch her. She won't want to fight, but her instincts will protect her."

"She won't let people touch her. She'll panic." I add. She couldn't handle it. All of those unfamiliar faces hovering over her with their hands all over her. They won't make it out of there alive.

"So what are they going to do? They can't leave her tissue damaged like that." Iida pipes in.

The chief sighs. "We know. We don't have very much time. They're discussing the options now."

"And what options are those?" I ask. As far as I can tell the only option should be to throw on some fire gear and save her.

They don't say anything.

"What are they?" I ask again, louder and more desperate for an answer.

"They can send her back to Dorsey, as they are the only ones who possess the equipment and know how to perform the procedure on her, as well as those who can subdue her."

"No way!" I protest. "You can't take her back. Even the sight of that place will set her back for good!" She won't recover from it. She'll lose all of her progress and have to start over again. All that she's done, trash. "What happens then, huh?"

"Well, we realize that would undo her progress. We have considered keeping her there until there is a certainty that she wouldn't be a liability." He continues.

"You can't be serious!" Iida spits.

"Can you really be that cruel?" I ask. "Don't you know what they did to her!?"

"Shoto, you don't understand." Torino starts. "Option two, is,"

"To what?" Midoriya yells.

He sighs. "To let her go."

Nobody moves. The room is so silent, it's like everyone is holding their breath.

"We realize this is a lot to take in."

"A lot to take in?" Midoriya starts, tears falling from his eyes. "You're just going to let her die?"

The chief sighs. "We'll try to keep you updated." They leave the room.

No. No. No. NO! Those aren't options. Send her back to her own personal hell or kill her? They can't be serious? Are these people really so small minded, that they can't figure out anything else? How can they call themselves professionals when they can't even save her?

The silence breaks by a buzzing coming from Midoriya, who is still frozen. He doesn't move or react. I grab the phone from his pocket.

"It's Bakugo." I say. Midoriya blinks and looks at it, taking the phone.

He holds it up to his ear. "Ka-, Kacchan?" His voice breaking.

"DEKU! What the hell is going on? Where is she!? I know she was with Endeavor last night in Hosu!" We can hear him yelling.

"How did you-, oh that's right. I sent my location to everyone." He mentions.

"Of course, idiot! NOW ANSWER ME!" It's no surprise he's so worried. He's one of the very few that can actually get close to her. Even if I don't particularly like the guy, I can't deny how much he cares for her and how comfortable she is around him. Before our internships started, she told me what Midoriya said. While I wasn't very encouraging of her feelings for Bakugo, I still listened. She told me how she wanted to try again with him, but couldn't handle the rejection if he didn't feel the same. That it would be safer for everyone if she just stayed away and left things unresolved. I actually agreed, but I think it was for selfish reasons. I knew Bakugo felt the same, but if she knew, he'd take her from me. I'd barely see her or have any alone time. She's the only one I trust to speak freely about myself and my feelings. With Bakugo in the way, I was afraid I'd lose that part of our friendship. And while I can't understand why, Bakugo keeps her calm, he-.

"She's, she-," He can barely speak as the tears fall.

I take the phone from him and put it on speaker.

"Bakugo."

"IcyHot! Tell me what's going on or I swear to god-,"

"Where are you right now?" I interrupt. if I'm right about this, there's no time to waste with insults.

"I'm at Jeanist's agency, why?"

"I need you to get to Hosu General as fast as you can."

"What?" He scoffs. "Why?"

"Because if you don't Haze is going to die." I say bluntly.

There's a silence and a thud, like the phone dropped. We hear muffled yelling in the background.

"I'll be right there." He hangs up.
