Chapter Fifteen

Sean: Good morning, this is Triton, Sean's friend. She can't go to work today. She fainted earlier and we rushed her to the hospital. I'm hoping for your consideration. Thank you.

I received this message earlier pero ngayon ko lang mabasa dahil naging busy ang OR kanina.

It's supposed to be the day that she'll come back to work with Vin.

Vin's already there at nag-text na din pala siya sa'kin na wala pa si Sean sa clinic.

Pareho ko silang ni-reply-an dahil nag-aalala na din ako kay Sean pati sa kung ano ng nangyayari sa clinic habang nandoon si Vin.

And at this moment, parang gusto ko nang puntahan si Sean because I'm really worried.

Pero gusto ko munang makasiguro kung nasa ospital pa ba siya.

Me: I understand. Is she fine by now?

Me: Is everything okay there, Vin?

Pakiramdam ko ay ayos lang naman si Vin at ang clinic kahit papaano dahil usually ay kakaunti lang ang pasyente t'wing Lunes.

At nag-aalala na talaga ako kay Sean. She fainted, pero impossible naman na dahil do'n sa medmission dahil halos dalawang linggo na simula no'n.

My phone vibrated and I'm assuming that Triton already replied to me.

Sean: Okay na 'ko, Doc! Don'cha wori!ヽ(^。^)ノ

Me: So you're awake by now.

Sean: Hindi snatcher 'to, nahablot kanina cellphone ko.

Me: ...

Sean: Sus kunwari ka pa, alam ko namang miss mo 'ko. Char! 'Yaan mo papasok na po 'ko bukas, kawawa naman si Doc Vin do'n.

Me: Don't force yourself. 'Wag mo na munang intindihin 'yun. Magpahinga ka muna.

Sean: Luh may pa-fall na naman dito.

Me: Whatever. Just rest.

Sean: Opo Tatay Nyx!

Me: Are you still in the hospital at this moment?

Sean: Bahay na, doc. 'Wag ka na mag-alala (kung nag-aalala ka man) ayos na 'ko. Pa-fall ka na naman e.

Me: I'm not going there, I'm helping Vin at the clinic.

Kahit na gusto ko talagang pumunta, pero naalala ko si Vin na mag-isa lang sa clinic.

Sean: Luh pereng tenge. Wele nemen akeng sinesebeng pupunte ke dito. 'Wag kang gan'yan baka mahulog ako sige ka! Char.

Me: ... Rest, ang daldal mo na.

Sean: Aym hurt. Pero sige pahinga na 'ko. Buh-buhy!

I smiled at her reply.

She fainted earlier but now she's so energetic like a kid with a sugar rush.

After a while, Vin already replied to my text.

Vin: Everything's fine p're. Kaya ko pa naman hahaha.

Vin: However, is the love of my life okay? Nag-aalala ako.

Love of his life? What the hell.

Me: She fainted earlier that's why she didn't went there. But she's okay by now.

Vin: Oh, p'wede na ba siyang pumasok bukas?

Me: I won't force her kung 'di pa niya kaya. By the way, I'm going there para tulungan ka.

Vin: Ok.

I drive to the clinic in no time because the traffic is light by this time which is a bizarre thing to happen.

At nang makarating ako, nakita ko naman kaagad si Vin na abala sa pagdalo sa isang pasyente.

Pero 'di ko inaasahang makita ang isa ko pang pinsan, which is Dylan.

"Hi Sebastian! Long time no see!" She greeted me pagkakita pa lang n'ya sa'kin.

So is she helping Vin here? But she's not a medical practitioner. Well, maybe she's just literally assisting him.

"Kailan ka pa bumalik dito sa Manila?" I asked.

"Well, kahapon lang actually. And I learned from Vin that you have a clinic so I drop by to help him in some things." She explained.

Napatango na lang ako at nag-check na rin ng ilang mga pasyente.

Hours have passed at tapos na ang clinic hours.

"Wait, wait! Can we eat first?" Dylan asked.

"Okay. / Lezgo!" Sabay naman naming sabi ni Vin.

We ended up convoying Dylan because she was the one who pick a restaurant but didn't tell us where.

Nagulat na lang ako nang makarating kami sa Estrella's.

It's a small restaurant where we always eat whenever we celebrate about things during college.

We're actually close but we didn't mess with each other's lives unless madulas kami o wala na kaming ibang mapuntahan.

We ordered when we got seated and the waiter said that it will take a 15 minute or less for the food to be served.

"So... I also heard that someone's crushing over someone." Biglang sabi ni Dylan.

"Ops, 'di ako 'yan. Pero 'tong si kumpareng Sebastian, hindi nagkukwento." Depensa kaagad ni Vin.

I thought he wants to court Sean? Tapos ako 'tong ituturo niya? Nahihibang na talaga 'to.

"Ikaw nga 'tong manililigaw." Sagot ko naman.

"Hoy! Tine-test lang kita! Para mo nga akong papatayin sa mga tingin mo kahapon!"

"I don't care. Court her. I'm just watching after her dahil nakikita ko siyang parang si Nia." Hindi ko alam kung nagpapalusot ba ako o ano.

"Nia? C'mon! I think she's nothing like her! Masyadong classy si Nia p're, while Sean is like an adventurous one." Pagpupumilit pa rin ni Vin.

But in fact, I really don't know.

I don't know if I like, or love her at this point.

Well yes, there are a lot of things that is lovable about her but I'm not sure enough for my feelings.

She makes me smile.

She's there whenever I need someone.

She's like a happy pill.

I care for her.

But is that enough to conclude that I like her? Or more so, love her?

"So you thought about it, huh?" Dylan said.

"Why don't you give it a try? Wala namang mawawala. Just test if you really like her." She shrugged.

"Tsh." I replied.

"Kung ayaw mo talaga, e 'di ako na lang! Watch and learn Seb." Vin warned.

"I adviced you enough, dear cousin. 'Wag kang magsisisi kapag napunta talaga kay Vin 'yang Sean na tinutukoy niyo." Sabi naman ni Dylan.

"You know, from the looks of it, she's worth the try. So why hold yourself up right? I don't know kung torpe ka o denial king." Dagdag pa niya.

I'm not denying.

Or am I?

This is really frustrating as hell.
