I got finished in the hospital way before Theo, which was expected - I only needed stitches, we knew my injuries, Theo's we didn't. But like the supportive partner and friend I am, I waited while Theo got his tests done.
"You really didn't have to wait." Theo says for the third time as we walk back to our cars. "You could've been out of here hours ago."
I shrug. "What you did back there,...." I sigh. "Thank you."
This time Theo shrugs. "We have each other's backs."
"So you're all clear?" I ask him and lean against the drivers door of my car.
Theo nods. "Which I'm not surprised about. I just came here because I knew Clare would be on my ass if I didn't."
I laugh. "Sounds about right."
"See you tomorrow Olive." He grins, stepping back to walk towards his car.
I pull open my door and throw my bag across to the passenger seat. "Until tomorrow Theodore."
My phone rings when I'm almost home. Thankfully Bluetooth allows me to connect it to the car speaker without me actually picking it up. "Hello?"
"I heard you and Theo saved the girl." Tammy'a voice comes through the speaker. "I was wondering why I hadn't heard from you in two days."
"Sorry babes, if I wasn't working I was sleeping." I say, as I pull into the parking lot of my apartment building.
"I totally get you." She says. "I thought I'd call to check up on you, everything good?"
I nod and realise she can't see me. "I'm good."
I hear a distant noise in the background before Tammys voice reappears. "I've got to go babes, call me if you need me yeah?"
"Of course, thanks Tam." I say and hang up. I spend the rest of my day binge watching Netflix in bed and I drift off to sleep at who knows what time.
The gun pressing into my back causes me to pull the door shut with a loud bang. "Who are you, and what the hell are you doing here?" The gruff voice sneers.
I try to put on my most innocent face, before I turn around my face towards the man standing behind me, I couldn't be one hundred percent but it looks exactly like Romeo Hail. I briefly wonder if Theo and the other agents can hear this or if the music from upstairs that's still blasting, is blocking it out.
I'm hoping for the latter.
I turn my head around with some fake tears threatening to spill. "I-I was upstairs, d-dancing," Judging by the look on Hails face I could see he hadn't made me yet. "I-I thought there might be a b-bathroom here."
"And I'm just supposed to believe you?" He pushes the gun further into my back digging into the skin. "Why shouldn't I just kill you?"
Now my nervous shaking is very much real. Has he made me? Is he playing mind games?
"I just came here to dance with my friends, they'll look for me. P-please don't hurt me."
