"Dale?" I stand up straighter, suddenly feeling tense. "How did you get out? How did you get in here?"
Blake lets out a cold laugh. "That's for me to know." He walks towards me as I start to search for something I can use as a weapon. I can fight him without a weapon but I'd prefer have the upper hand but the sharp pain of something hitting me head knocks me to the ground and before I regain my balance a zip tie is bound around my wrists. "Bet you didn't think I'd come back to get you, now did you."
I laugh, although I'm feeling anything but amused. Dale knew what he was doing, he'd only take me down if he caught me off guard and somehow managed to get the upper hand. "So what happens now? You kill me? Preferably slowly, I enjoy the pain."
The barrel of a gun pressing coldly against the side of my head sobers my laughter. "I know you're bluffing, what was it I could call you 'the bitch who was about to arrest me'?" He moves so his mouth is right against my ear. "You can call me the prick who's about to kill you but I'ma do the worst things you can imagine first."
"Entertain me." I shrug as best as I can in the awkward position I'm stuck half lying, half sitting in.
"Don't think I won't do exactly what you say." He snarls before stepping back and walking around my apartment, a smirk on his face. "And I'll have fun every second of it."
"You obviously don't know who the hell I am."
"Olivia Bennett, twenty two years old, originally from New York, two parents, one brother named Simon, best friend Isabella. One hell of an agent why else are you restrained." He recites like he learned it off just a few hours ago. "I'm not scared though."
My heart sinks at his words, and for the first time since I came back to my apartment I feel fear swarm my body. I inwardly kick myself for not mentioning that I was leaving to anyone, meaning I need to find some way out of this by myself and it's nothing looking good.
The force of the punch that hits my cheek causes my head to move to the side. "Listen when I'm talking bitch."
"Or what?" I snap making the decision I'm not about to give up without a fight.
He grabs my chin roughly. "You don't want to know." He stands up and strolls around before stopping and pointing the gun towards me. "Maybe I'll kill you first."
Making a snap decision I kick out my right leg to knock Dale off balance. When he stumbles back I get to my feet as quick as I can and run to the kitchen. I know Dales not far behind me because of the hand restraints costing me valuable time. I grab a knife I thankfully forgot to put away earlier and when I feel Dale right behind me, I swing around and plunge the knife into his stomach.
"You bitch!" He screams, stumbling backwards.
I take the opportunity to run to the front door but the sound of the gunshot and the pain I feel in my lower stomach knocks the air out of me. Dale grabs my arm and throws me to the ground and I squirm backwards my hands pressing against the gun shot wound, in attempt to avoid the barrel pointing straight between my eyes.
"Fuck slowly, you deserve no hope."
I close my eyes waiting for the pain when I hear the gunshot but nothing happens. After a few seconds of silence, I open my eyes to see Dale lying in the ground blood pouring from him.
"Liv!" I feel a pair of arms wrap around me. "It's me Liv, it's Theo. You're okay, everything's okay."
It's only when I look up at Theo and see the worry in his eyes that I finally let the tears fall. He lifts me up and carries me bridal style to the sofa, after sitting down and laying me on top of him he rubs my hair soothingly.
