"Salamat pala for letting me stay." Saritha just sat down at the floor of the tent. She was trying to break the ice between them. She glanced around. Malaki naman ang tent na ito para sa kanilang dalawa. Parang kasya yata ang isang pamilya roon.
There was a soft cushion on the floor at may nakalatag ring makeshift bed with two pillows. There was ventilation inside - a small portable fan at maliit na generator kung saan nagcha-charge ngayon ang phone ni Yego.
"G-good to see you again," she said, trying to initiate a conversation.
Yego was preparing to lie down at parang hindi siya nito naririnig.
"So where can I sleep?" she asked.
Itinuro lamang ni Yego ang area sa tabi niya.
What a dumb question, Sari! Natural, isa lang ang tent na to at iisa lang din ang makeshift bed niya, she yelled in her mind.
So she put down her backpack and opened it to get fresh clothes. Shit! Paano siya magpapalit ng damit?
Mukhang naramdaman ni Yego ang discomfort niya so he turned around. "You can just change here. I won't look I promise."
"S-salamat," she said while hurriedly getting out of her shirt. Pero dahil sa pagmamadali niya. The shirt got stuck in her gold earrings. Sumabit ang tela niyon doon at ngayon, her shirt was bundled up on her head at hindi niya iyon matanggal.
Nanggigigil siya sa katangahan niya ngayon. Pilit niyang hinihila ang shirt niya but nothing's happening. "Shit," she exclaimed in exasperation.
"Are you alright?" tanong ni Yego, who's now probably looking at her pero hindi niya alam because her vision is being blocked by her own shirt.
"My shirt got stuck!" pag-amin niya.
"Oh, let me help," he said.
She heard some shuffling sounds na bumabangon ito at papalapit sa kanya. Then she felt his hands untangling her from the mess she created for herself.
"There you go," he said when he successfully removed her shirt.
She immediately saw him and realized how close they were. She could actually smell his masculine scent now.
"T-Thanks," she muttered.
She saw him swallow, judging by the movement of his Adam's apple. And suddenly, she remembered that she was just in her bra. Dali-dali siyang nagsuot ng bagong shirt.
"Do you need help removing your pants?" makahulugang tanong nito.
Umiling na lamang siya. "I can handle it."
He didn't bother looking away now. And she didn't bother calling him out as she removed her pants. Now when her fingers reached her undies, she looked at him.
"Can you turn around? I need to..." she asked.
"Fine," he said and went back to lie down, with his back to her.
She took out her feminine wipes to cleanse herself before putting on a fresh pair of shorts. "I'm done. You can turn back around."
And he did. He was facing her again now at hindi man lamang nito itinago ang pagtitig nito sa kabuuan niya. The nerve of this man???
She sat beside him, without lying down just yet. Kinuha niya ang phone niya to distract herself. She opened her phone to check if there are messages or fresh e-mails.
"You didn't even bother telling me na uuwi ka na pala," Yego stated.
Nawala ang atensyon niya sa phone at bigla siyang napatingin dito.
