Chapter 15

"Are you okay?" Saritha quickly went to Atticus' side habang nasa ER ngayon at unconscious si Celine. Tinawagan siya ni Atticus matapos ang isang insidenteng kinasangkutan nilang  dalawa. She rushed to the hospital immediately when he called.

It has been about a week pa lamang simula ng manggaling sila sa camping and she was in her office getting introduced to all their employees in their Architecture Firm ng tumawag ito.

Atticus looked up at her and held her hand. "She's there," tipid na sagot nito while pointing at one area of the ER na natatakpan ng kurtina.

"She'll be fine," pag-alo niya sa kaibigan. Umupo siya kaagad sa tabi nito. "What happened?"

"My mom," he simply answered. "And she's pregnant for goodness' sake!"

Nanlaki ang mga mata niya sa narinig. Doble ngayon ang kabang nararamdaman niya para sa kaibigan. 

Just then, in came Yego. At kasunod naman nito si Aries.

"Bro," lapit ni Aries kay Atticus. "Where's Celine?"

He pointed to the same corner with curtains drawn. 

Sari looked at Yego and he stared back at her and then down on her hands na ngayon ay hawak-hawak ni Atticus. All of a sudden, hinila siya patayo ni Yego at palayo kay Atticus.

"Ouch!" reklamo niya but Yego kept his hands firm on her wrist.

Atticus stood up. "Anong problema mo?" galit na tanong nito kay Yego.

Yego didn't back down at all. "Your woman is just right there at nag-aagaw buhay. Siya ang atupagin mo at huwag ang asawa ko!"

"You're crazy! You're fucking crazy!" Atticus said na halatang napipikon na.

Aries went in between the both of them at inawat ang mga ito. "Fucking chill, both of you! Para kayong mga tanga. Atticus needs our support now, Yego."

Yego didn't back down. So Sari did what she could to try to calm him down. She held his arm and pleaded. "Please... let's not make this worse for Atticus. Tumawag lang siya because he was so lost... and I'm his friend."

Yego looked at her. At nakahinga si Saritha nang makitang huminga na ito at lumayo kay Atticus. Yego sat down at the other end of the chairs in the waiting area at hinila siya paupo katabi nito.

"You didn't even call after we came back to the city," panimula ni Yego. "And now makikita kita na nakabuntot sa kaibigan ko."

"He needs us here. I'm a close friend of his for so many years. Huwag mo 'tong bigyan ng malisya. I haven't cheated on you ever!" pagkumbinsi niya dito.

"Then, why aren't you answering my calls?"

She just breathed deeply. "Yego, what happened between us was just... it was a good remembrance... before we-"

"Don't you even dare say it, Saritha! Hindi ako papayag sa anumang iniisip mo. I'll kill you if ever you think of doing that," pagbabanta nito. 

Lumalakas na ang boses nito at pinagtitinginan na sila sa ER. So she tried to pacify him. "We'll talk about this some other time. Not here!"

Just then, a nurse went out at sinabing maaari nang matransfer sa isang private room ang pasyente. Celine is also now stable and so is the baby.

Nakita niya kung paano nakahinga ng maluwag si Atticus. He must really love her.

She was now heading back to the office. May naiwan siyang mga designs na kailangan niyang i-aralin at i-approve by tomorrow for a pitch nila. Na-assign kasi sila for a big project on a museum. Naiwan niya rin doon ang listahan ng mga suppliers na tinitingnan niya para sa bahay na papasimulan na niyang ipatayo.
