Sari was looking at the couple now in the middle of the aisle. In front of them was their priest for tomorrow's wedding.
They were practicing the vows part pero syempre hindi pa pwedeng sabihin nina Celine at Atticus ang mga vows nila in full. They were just fixing the blockings and cues.
Sari breathed deeply and tried to remember her own wedding. There were no long vows. Just their "I do's." Ni hindi nga sila nagrehearsal because it was just a civil wedding that happened for about twenty minutes.
They were now in a quaint chapel by the mountains na katabi lamang ng hotel resort na tinitigilan nila. She didn't want it pero may kaunting inggit ngayon sa puso niya. Life was a bit unfair for her. She didn't even get a chance to be married... for real. With someone who loves her and someone she loves. All she had was a rushed wedding with a stranger... and now, she's trying to live with that. Is annulment the only way for her to retrace her steps and do romance all over again?
"Hey," Yego whispered on her ears.
He was following her as she changed seats palayo dito.
"No, bakit kita mami-miss?" she said emotionlessly.
He just shrugged. "I left for four days para magpa-miss sana sa'yo matapos mo akong awayin the night before I left."
"Inaway kita?" patay-malisyang tanong niya.
Tumango-tango ito. "Yup, I'm a bit tipsy but I can clearly remember how you pushed me out of the bed para matulog ulit sa sahig."
"Well, good for you. You slept well the past four days in a posh hotel... probably with someone else. Who knows?" dugtong ni Sari while still keeping her eyes on the ongoing rehearsal in front.
"I was there for business," he firmly said. "If you want, sumama ka na lang sakin sa mga susunod kong business trips kung nagdududa ka pa."
She just shrugged. "Busy akong tao."
"Okay," he said. "Anyway, I'm in Room 682."
She gave him a side-eye. "So?"
"Won't we sleep together tonight?" tanong nito and gave her a wink. "I wanna show you something. May binili ako para sayo."
"Thanks. Ibigay mo na lang sakin bago ka matulog mamaya."
"Which room are you staying in?"
Sari just rolled her eyes at Yego. "Just give it to me during dinner. If I tell you my room number, gagapangin mo lang ako."
He just smirked. "You know me so well. Fine, I'll just ask Atticus kung saang room number ka," he announced and walked away.
She didn't even bother calling out to him. She just got herself busy on her phone now. May messages siyang natanggap from work kaya pinagkaabalahan na lang muna niyang basahin iyon.
Just then, she heard a commotion in front. She saw Yego in between Celine, Atticus and the priest.
"Really, you're disturbing our rehearsal just for that." Atticus glared at his friend habang naglakad si Yego palabas ng chapel.
Sari just sat there ruminating the situation. And then it hit her. She's currently staying in Room 793. "Fuck," she hissed under her breath.
