"This is the last," Yego announced nang ilapag ang huling maleta niya sa kwarto nila ngayon. Saritha brought about four luggages. Talagang nag-alsa balutan siya at dinala lahat ng mga damit at gamit niya dito.

"Thanks," she said while looking at the room again. It was the same room they had last time. Not much had changed. She can't believe he even kept everything as it was. "I think we have a problem."

"What?" tanong nito.

"There's only one bed," sagot niya at tinaasan ito ng kilay. "I have a condition, remember?"

Tumango naman ito. "I'll sleep on the floor. Don't worry. May foam diyan sa closet. I'll pull it out every night. There's only one bedroom here so it will have to do."

Kumunot ang noo niya. "And this closet won't fit all my things."

He nodded. "Yup, exactly. Which is why I hired a construction firm to begin building our house."

"What?" She faced him and forgot about the closet problem. "But I'm already talking to suppliers for my dream house."

"Our dream house," pagtatama ni Yego. "I got a hold of your design when I saw it in your office a last week. It looks amazing. A modern home tied with nature. It's a work of art, really. It wouldn't be bad to live in one."

"But that's my house!"

"What's the difference? Shouldn't you be happy I'm building it for you as a gift?"

"You don't understand! That one is mine."

He breathed deeply to control his budding anger. "You're my wife. Why do you need a house of your own? Husbands and wives live together."

She tried to calm herself as well. Nagpanic siya bigla nang malaman na inangkin na rin nito ang bahay na pinaplano niyang itayo. It was her only semblance of freedom. It symbolized a life of peace that she wanted for herself... after she gets annulled.

He pulled her closer. "Hey," untag nito. "Are you okay?"

"Yes," she said at lumayo rito. She's starting to be afraid now. Ayaw niyang mahulog muli para dito only to be hurt in the end. She just agreed to this because she wanted to help as much people as she can.

She went to open one of her luggages para magsimula nang ayusin ang mga gamit sa closet.

"You need help?"

Umiling si Saritha. "I can do this."

"Alright, I'll prep dinner."

"Please don't tell anyone yet. I haven't told even my parents," she said.

Tiningnan siya nito. "Okay."

"Wow!" she exclaimed when she went down to the kitchen bar area. Steak and wine were served for two people.

"Tonight's a celebration," he said. "Sit."

She sat down beside him and admired his work. "Since when did you learn how to cook?"

"Since you left me," mabilis na sagot nito.

She just looked  at him, unsure of what to say.

Then, he smirked. "Guilty now? Na iniwan mo ang asawa mong hindi marunong magluto?"

"No, I don't feel anything at all," she joked. She got her fork at took a small piece for a bite. "Woah, this is... terribly good."

"Nice that you like it." Ngumiti ito at nagsimula na ring kumain.
