8 - Reacquainted

—Y/n's POV—

Cole laughed, scratching the back of his head. "You have a lot to catch up on."

"That's beside the point," Kai interrupted. "Y/n, we thought you were dead!"

"Come to think of it, that tends to happen a lot in Ninjago," Nya said. "First we thought Zane died because of the Overlord, then we thought we lost Cole when he fell from the bounty, and now we've found Y/n, who's be 'dead' for years!"

I stared at them open-mouthed. I knew about Zane, but Cole? When did that happen?

"I think we all owe each other an explanation," Zane said. "Y/n, if you were alive this whole time, why didn't you come back?"

I felt a pang if regret as he said that, and wasn't able to answer. The reason I stayed in Paris without returning wasn't a very good one; it was all because of a stupid, stupid promise...

Suddenly, out of the corner of my eye, I saw Lloyd lunge towards me. I dodged his fist in the nick of time.

"Dude, what the heck?" Jay cried.

"I'm sorry, I don't know what's happening!"

"You're under the control of the akumatized victim," I stated, although none of my friends would understand those words.

"Akuma-whata?" Cole asked, bewildered.

"Oh, never mind," I groaned.

Lloyd threw some more punches, and I blocked them with ease. Thankfully, he didn't use spinjitzu again. But when the rest of the team started ganging up on me, I began having trouble.

"Need a hand, Blue?" Chat Noir asked.

"What took you so long?!" I demanded.

"I thought you had everything under control," he said defensively. "By the way, mind introducing me?"

"Okay, uh, Chat, this is my... uh... well...my family."

"Whoa, really? You were raised by a bunch of ninja?"

"Yeah, I guess you could put it that way." I hadn't really thought about it much, but it was pretty close to the truth.

"I'm Zane, nice to meet you," Zane introduced himself while they battled. At least their minds still belonged to themselves. "I am very pleased to meet the new friends of y/—"

"Don't call me that! They don't know my real name!"

"I would very much like to know who's controlling me!" Nya exclaimed as she began moving water aggressively towards Ladybug. 

"Nya! You mastered your water powers!"

"Sure did!" 

"Okay, so the girl is Nya, the robot is Zane, who are the rest?" Chat asked.

"Can we do this later?" I complained. We were literally in the middle of a fight.

"No, actually. By the time they aren't under control by the akuma, they'll disappear."

"Oh, right," I said sadly. In my moment of realization, I let my guard down, and Lloyd landed a kick to my chest.

"Sorry, sorry! I didn't mean—"

"It's fine," I replied getting back up off the ground.  "Okay, Chat; the one I'm fighting is Lloyd, the red one is Kai, Jay is the blue one, and Cole is in black. Happy now?"

"Yes, very."

"Hey y/—" Kai started, as I blocked a few of his kicks.

"Blue!" I interrupted frantically. "Call me Blue!"

"Uh, okay... Who's the lovely ladybug over there?"

"I think that's pretty self-explanatory."

"Wait, her name is actually Ladybug?"

"No," I said, exasperated. "That's just her superhero name."

"Lucky Charm!" Ladybug called. I heard Jay snicker, and it I didn't blame him; when I first arrived in Paris, I thought her power was a little ridiculous, too.

"Chat Noir, Blue, I think I have a plan!" Lady called, holding a ladybug-coloured teapot. "But I need you two to keep these guys busy while I go get some back up."

"Will do, Milady!" Chat called.

Now that Lady was gone, her previous opponents, Nya and Cole, focused on Chat and me. Nya ganged up with Zane and Jay against Chat, while Lloyd and Kai were joined by Cole.

"So, Mr. Chat Noir," Jay said randomly. "Got any love interests on your mind?"

"Well..." Chat began in response to Jay. He then looked at me, since I was one of the only ones who knew about his crush.

For some reason, Lloyd suddenly became a little more aggressive.

"Are you two... together?" Cole asked, excited.

"What? No!" I responded immediately.

I could have sworn I heard Lloyd breathe a sigh of relief.

"Ugh, seriously, Jay? Ever since your proposal, all you can think about is love!"

"HOLD UP! When did you two get engaged?!" I cried with pure happiness.

"Not that long ago," Nya replied. "I'll fill you in later, kay?"

"Ridiculous! Utterly ridiculous!"

I turned my head for a moment, to see Chloe standing there, in her Queen Bee outfit, along with Carapace and Reena Rouge.

"Seriously?" she continued. "Do you really expect me to fight a bunch of people wearing pajamas?"
