Trigger warning: vey brief mention of self harm

———y/n's POV———-

"Adrien, no!" I cried. "What are you doing?"

He held out his miraculous to Hawkmoth, but when his father didn't take it, Adrien threw it at him. It hit him in the face, which I would have laughed at if I wasn't so concerned for what was happening.

"Zane, freeze the akuma," I said as the butterfly flew out of the ring.

He did as I said and coated the bug in frost. He picked up the immobile akuma and placed it in his pocket just as Adrien turned and walked away. I ran after him, but he picked up the pace.

"Adrien, stop!" I yelled. "I know you're upset, but please, just talk to me."

He turned a few corners, so I wasn't able to find him right away. I looked this way and that, but I couldn't see him. I was about to turn around and go look for him down another hallway, but then I spotted him sitting in a stairwell.

"Ripple, fins down. Go find the others and tell them where we are."

I pushed open the glass door to find Adrien crying with a blade held at his wrist. I snatched it away before he could to anything, and crushed him in a hug. He didn't pull away as I held him.

"It's going to be okay," I said. "It may not feel like it now, but things will get better."

He continued to cry on my shoulder, and I could feel my heart burning with hatred for Gabriel Agreste, the man who made him feel this way.

"I-I'm sorry, I d-didn't mean... I shouldn't..."

"Shh, it's okay," I assured him.

"No, i-it's not! I g-gave Hawkmoth my miraculous! Why the hell did I d-do that?"

"It's not your fault," I said. "Sometimes our emotions take control of us. And don't worry; he needs Ladybug's miraculous for his wish to work."

That made Adrien cry harder.

"I sent them all away! M'lady, Reena, Chloe, the ninja...I didn't mean to, but I did..."

"We'll get them back," I told him.

"H-How? They're banished from this world."

"But this isn't the only world out there. They're probably in a different realm."

"Y/n?" Zane asked as he pushed the door to the stairwell open. "Adrien? Are you okay?"

"Y-Yeah, I'm fine," he lied, drying his eyes. "What's going on?"

"Sensei took the ring before anyone else could claim it. We also took Hawkmoth and Mayura's miraculouses."

"What about my father? And Nathalie?"

"Sensei thinks that they're harmless without their miraculouses, so he let them go. Come on, Sensei Jay, and Carapace are waiting for us upstairs."

The three of us climbed up the stairs and headed for the entrance hall. The others were sitting in the dining room, quietly waiting.

"I found them," Zane said. "What's the plan?"

"We're going to find Sensei's brother," Jay said. "He might be able to help us figure out where Inaperçu sent all our friends."

Adrien's breath hitched, so I took his hand. I looked him in the eye to remind him that this wasn't his fault. As I looked at him, however, I noticed a picture on the wall.

"Hey, who's that?" I asked. I knew I was getting distracted, but this girl looked very familiar.

"That's my grandmother," Adrien said. "On my father's side."

"Jay, doesn't she remind you of someone?" I asked, getting closer to the photo.

"Yeah... wait! It's that superhero from Sunfire and Big Hero Six!"

"Honey Lemon," I muttered. For once, Jay's knowledge of comic books was proving useful. I turned to Sensei, hoping he could explain. "How is this possible?"

A/n

Hey everyone! Hope you're doing okay. Flordites suggested I add another crossover to explain who Hawkmoth's mom is, so that's what I did.

Did you know that the movie Big Hero 6 was based off of a Marvel comic? Well, I didn't find out until yesterday. If you haven't seen the movie yet, I recommend you go do that because it's freakin awesome!

Love you all,

—Cal
