Lloyd's POV"Hello, Edalyn," the dark-haired stranger greeted, but she didn't seem very friendly.
"Lilith," Eda growled. "What do you want?"
"Same as always," Lilith replied. "To recruit you for the Emperor's Coven."
"I would have thought that was a good thing, but you said it all creepy, so I'm guessing it's bad," y/n said, then she turned to Luz. "Do you know her?"
"She keeps coming after Eda," she replied, but her gaze was still on Lilith. "You'll never take her alive!"
"Yeah!" King—the tiny demon baby creature—agreed. "You're not arresting her today, or ever!"
"Arrest her?" Y/n repeated. "Luz, you're living with a criminal?"
"Technically, yes. But she never did anything wrong! She's just a little weird, but so am I! So is King! Even you, Amity."
Amity looked confused. "I'm not sure if that was supposed to be a compliment or not."
"Well, we sure know what it's like to be treated differently," I said, looking at y/n. She smiled at me, as I started preparing my hand to summon my powers.
Y/n kicked the base of a broom leaning against the wall, which sent it flying right into her hand. As spheres of energy formed at my palms, y/n used the broom as a weapon and went to attack Lilith.
"Wait, y/n—that's not such a good idea!" Amity warned, but y/n wasn't listening.
"Foolish child," Lilith muttered. She moved her finger in a circular motion in front of her, and pushed the glowing disc forward. It activated a spell, and shot y/n backwards into a bookshelf.
"Okay... did not see that coming," y/n groaned, rubbing her head. Despite the hit, she stood back up and picked up the broom. She looked a little wobbly, but she shook it off and got in a defensive stance.
"Really, Eda?" Lilith laughed. "You need a couple of amateur witches to protect you?"
"Hey! I am not an amateur!" Y/n protested, standing up. "But I'm also not a witch... ha! You're double-wrong!"
"Uh, y/n? Maybe you should sit down," I said worriedly. "I think you may have hit your head against the wall."
"If you were smart, you'd run away," Lilith said menacingly.
"Well, I'm not!" Y/n declared, but then she seemed to review the statement in her head. "Running away, that is. I am smart."
"Look out!" Luz cried, just as Lilith drew a circle in the air and blasted some kind of blue fire at y/n. She dodged it just in time.
The blasts kept coming, and y/n shrieked with every near miss. Her powers were useless in combat, and the broom wasn't going to do any damage from a long range, so all she could do was avoid getting hit. I continued firing at Lilith, but she somehow managed to block every single one of my shots. Y/n, however, ran out of luck— with a gasp, she collapsed to the ground after getting hit.
"No!" I yelled, just as Lilith prepared to blast her again. The colour of the spell was different this time, which could have been a good or a bad thing, but I wasn't taking any chances. My blood boiled, and I felt a burning sensation in my gut as I ran to stand between Lilith and y/n.
"Lloyd!" Y/n cried, just as the burning spread throughout the rest of my body. Light encased me, and I felt my figure change. Lilith was so surprised, she didn't finish casting the spell.
I looked down at myself. I had transformed into a dragon. Oops... I didn't mean to do that. Wait, how is this even possible?!
"Ohmygoshohmygoshohmygosh!" Luz squealed excitedly. "Ooh, this just got good."
I tried to say something, but all I did was roar loudly, which made everyone cover their ears. Frustrated with the lack of familiarity in my body, I thrashed my tail around.
"Hey, hey, hey! Take it outside," Eda ordered. "I don't want my house getting ruined."
"You could be helping, you know!" Amity accused.
"Yeah, probably. But I'm not really one for violence."
"Since when?" King demanded. "You're supposed to be the most powerful witch in the Boiling Isles! You love duels!"
"Oh, I guess you're right," Eda said, but it wasn't clear if she was being sarcastic or not. "Fine, I guess I can participate."
Eda charged at Lilith, her staff at the ready, and pushed her outside. They started duelling with magic.
What the heck happened to me?! I asked, but the words came out as a growl.
"Huh?" Y/n questioned.
"He says he's hungry," King said, matter-of-factly.
What? No! I was freaking out, not asking for food!
"You can understand him?" Luz asked.
"Well, yeah! I'm a demon! I understand all beastly languages."
Yeah, okay, I snorted. What am I saying right now, genius?
"He said 'y/n, let's go kick some butt!'" King translated wrongly, pointing outside where Eda and Lilith were fighting.
I flicked him with my claw, then I turned around, picked y/n up with my teeth by the fabric of her clothes, and carried her out the door.
"Well..." y/n contemplated. She seemed to be in a slight state of shock. "This is... normal..."

A/n
I could've sworn that I wrote a chapter earlier where Lloyd transformed into a dragon, but I went looking for it and I couldn't find it. Maybe that was just an idea and I didn't actually write it? Or maybe I'm just looking in the wrong part of the book?? I'm a little confused right now, but that's nothing new. I'm always confused with what's happening. Does anybody know where I can find my brain? I think I may have lost it...
