A/n: I'm so, so sorry for taking so long to update. Also, thanks for 2k reads, guys! I don't really deserve them, but it means a lot <3

Marinette's POV

"What are these?" I asked, tracing my finger along the markings on the cave walls.

"They look like some kind of ancient language," Cole said. "If Zane were here, he could probably translate it."

"Yeah, well, he's not," Kai said with a huff. "And it's not like we need to know what it says, anyway."

"But what if the markings could tell us what realm we're in?" Nya suggested. "Then y/n can  come get us."

"That's true," Alya said. "Okay... how do we figure out what it means?"

"I dunno if this would help, but what if you used your lucky charm?" Chloe asked me. I had forgotten I was still in my superhero suit.

"Worth a shot," I said with a shrug, then I raised my arm up. "Lucky charm!"

A book fell into my hands. Even though the cover was red with black spots—just like all my lucky charms—the pages inside had actual words on them. I flipped to the very first page to see the title.

"The Complete Guide to Translating Ancient Languages," I read out loud.

"Wow, your power gave us exactly what we need," Alya said. "Normally it's something really random—remember that time you got a rubber duck?"

I stuck my tongue out at her. "I don't control it, you know."

She laughed. "I'm just kidding, Mari."

We spent the next hour or so trying to figure out what the writing on the walls said. Will all seven of our brains working together, we managed to come up with a general idea of what it meant—something about this being the realm of Oni and Dragons. The markings told a story about the first spinjitsu master—whatever that means—and how he created Ninjago.

"Hey, Zane, you there?" Cole asked, pressing a button near his ear. "I think I know where we are."

—————-Adrien's POV————-

While we waited to hear from the others again, we went upstairs to my bedroom. Zane was looking at my collection of books, while Jay and Carapace were playing foosball. Y/n looked lost in thought as she stared out the window. The ninja's Sensei was sitting on the couch, drinking tea.

"You okay, Adrien?" Plagg asked, floating next to my head.

"Yeah, I'm fine," I lied. I still felt weird about everything, from my father being Hawkmoth, to the fact that my mother was underneath my house this entire time.

"You know, you're surrounded by people who love you," Plagg said. "If you need to talk, any one of us would be willing to listen."

"Thanks, Plagg," I whisper with a smile.

Out of the corner of my eye, I saw Zane's hand fly to the side of his head. The motion likely meant he was talking to Cole, so the rest of us waited impatiently to hear what he had to say.

"They're in a place called the First Realm," Zane announced after a moment. "It's a world that belongs to oni and dragons."

"Uh... what's an oni?" I asked.

"It's kind of like a demon," y/n said, then looked unsure. "I think."

"Pretty much," Sensei said. "That's the best way to explain it."

"Hey, dude, have you been to the First Realm?" Carapace asked. "You seem like the kind of guy who's been everywhere."

"No..." Sensei started. "But I've heard of it. The Realm of Oni and Dragon is where the First Spinjitzu Master originated from."

"Really?" Zane asked. "So Ninjago was created by a man from a different world?"

"Well, yes... except my father isn't exactly a man. He's part oni, part dragon."

Jay's jaw dropped. "No way! Does that mean you're not fully human either?"

Sensei nodded.

"Cool!"

"Let's try to stay focused, here," Zane said.

"Okay, okay," Jay said. "What's the plan, then? Can y/n or Turtle Dude go there and then bring them back?"

"The name's Carapace, and no; y/n's not ready to travel yet. Remember last time?"

"Right..." Jay mutters. "Uh... are you up for it?"

"I guess so..." Carapace shrugged.

"No, Nino, I'm not letting you go by yourself," y/n said. "I'm coming with you."

"Wait... Nino?" I questioned.

Y/n paled. "Oops."

"Seriously, dudette?" Carapace said. "It's bad enough that you know my identity, but you could have at least kept it a secret from Adrien."

"You know his identity, and you know mine! The only superhero you don't know is Ladybug, but I'm sure that'll change soon. It's only fair he gets to know yours."

Carapace sighed. "You're right. Sorry, I didn't mean to get mad."

"It's fine, don't worry," Y/n assured him. "Now, let's go save our friends."
