I turned around again, about to head off, but then someone appeared in front of me.
Someone I wasn't expecting to see.
"Master Fu?!" I exclaimed. He was gripping his walking stick and holding his back as if it was hurting him. "What are you doing here?"
"I had to make sure you were alright," he said. He took a step forward, but winced in pain. "Apparently I'm not, though."
"But... how did you..."
"Your miraculous isn't the only one with ancient magic," he said. "Back in the day—"
"I'd love to hear more, Master, but I'm kind of in a rush," I said. It was the truth; Lloyd wanted me to go away, so I need to leave as soon as possible.
"It will have to wait. There's trouble in Paris, and the team needs you."
I resisted the urge to groan. "Now?"
"Yes, now. Be there as soon as you can," he ordered, then held up his bracelet. "I have to give this to Nino. I'll meet you after the battle."
He tapped his miraculous three times, and vanished. I sighed, then reached for my own.
"Wait," Lloyd said, coming up to me. "I, um..."
"What is it?"
"I'm sorry I yelled at you," he mumbled. "But... do you have to leave?"
"Master Fu made it seem pretty urgent," I said, but then I realized why Lloyd looked so concerned. "Don't worry; I promise to come back this time."
He relaxed a bit, and stepped back a bit to give me some space.
"Good luck," he told me. "Not that you need it."
————-Ladybug's POV————
"Argh, where is she?" I complained as Chat and I waited behind a building. "She should be here by now!"
"I'm here," a voice said. Thank goodness; it was Blue.
"Finally!" I said. "What took you so long?"
"I was dealing with a family matter—anyway, that's not important. What's going on?"
"We found Hawkmoth," Chat explained. "We followed Mayura after a fight, and she led us here, to the... to the Agreste mansion."
It could have just been my imagination, but I could have sworn I heard Chat's voice waver, as if it were hard to say the words.
Blue came over and put a hand on Chat's shoulder.
"You okay?" she asked. He nodded.
"What is up with you two?" I wondered. They were acting kind of strange.
"Thanks for coming, Blue," Chat said. "I know you were planning on staying with your family for a while, but we really need you here for this."
"Shh!" I hushed. "The gates are opening!"
We watched as a limousine pulled out of the driveway and onto the road. As soon as the car drove away, it was safe to talk again.
"Okay, here's the plan: I'm going to call Adrien, and ask him to let us in through the window. Once we're inside, he can give us some insight on where a secret lair might be hidden."
I took out my ladybug phone and prepared to dial the number—which I'd memorized—but Blue and Chat stopped me.
"How do you know he's even home?" Chat asks. "Maybe he's out fencing or something."
"There's no harm in trying," I said, furrowing my brow. Why were they acting so weird?
"Chat, how about you go try to find the others," Blue suggested. "Go make sure they're okay."
"Yeah, good idea!" Chat replied, then scampered as fast as lightning.
"Uh, okay..."
After I got over the fact that Chat just upped and left, I called Adrien. He picked up after the third ring.
"Hello?"
"Adrien! Hi! I, uh, w-we—"
I was interrupted as Blue grabbed the phone right out of my hands.
——————y/n's POV—————
"This is Dauphine Bleue," I said into the phone. I had taken it from Ladybug because she still has a hard time talking to her crush. "Where are you?"
"Uh... I just got home. What's the matter?"
I was was glad he was playing dumb, because Ladybug made me put him on speaker.
"We need to get inside your house. We have reason to believe someone at your household is Hawkmoth or Mayura."
He feigned a gasp. "Oh my God!"
"Yeah, I know. Crazy. Can you help us?"
