——Jay's POV——

"Are you talking to someone?" I asked Nya as I went into the kitchen. It was pretty late, and the others were getting ready for bed, but there were still noises coming from over here.

Once I stopped rubbing my eyes, I looked up and saw y/n standing next to Nya.

"How'd you get in here?"

Y/n made eye contact with Nya, then let out a sigh. "I have a feeling this won't be the last time I tell this story, but here goes..."

After she finished explaining everything, Nya had to use her finger to push my jaw back up; it must have dropped at some point during y/n's story.

Certain events suddenly started to make sense. So that's how y/n kept appearing in random places!

"How's Lloyd?" Nya asked. "We've been worried about him."

I shrugged. "I haven't seen him since we got home."

Nya narrowed her eyes. "I thought he was with you guys."

"Nope, the last I checked, he was heading for the stairs."

"Should we go check on him?" Y/n asked.

I nodded, and the three of us headed above deck. We looked all around the ship, but Lloyd was nowhere to be found.

"I'll go check inside again," Nya suggested. "Maybe he's in the bathroom."

I watched as she headed down the stairs, then turned back to y/n.

"Something wrong?" I asked, noticing her concerned expression.

"There's dirt on the handrail," she muttered. "Almost as if someone was standing on it."

I glanced at the spot she was staring at. She was right; the shape of the soil resembled the pattern on the bottom of a shoe.

"You don't think he... jumped, do you?" I asked.

"Only one way to find out."

——y/n's POV——

Before Jay could stop me, I hopped up on top of the rail and threw myself into the wind. I free fell for a while, but as I got closer to the ground, I summoned my elemental dragon. My turquoise (a/n: imagine a different colour if you want) dragon, Delta, appeared underneath me, and if I didn't know any better, I'd say she was happy to see me.

"Long time, no see," I laughed, petting her fondly. She made a purr-like rumbling sound in return.

I directed Delta to the opposite direction Destiney's Bounty was heading. I scanned below me, but there was no sign of Lloyd.

I searched for about an hour, and was about to give up hope, but then something caught my eye. I steered Delta down to a forest, where I could have sworn I saw the glimmer of another elemental dragon.

"Lloyd?" I called as I landed. I jumped off of Delta's back, and walked along the mossy ground. "Lloyd, please come out."

I suddenly heard a sniffle, as if someone was crying. I turned around abruptly to see Lloyd, his head buried in his hands. I took a step towards him, but then he noticed me.

"Go way, y/n," he said, wiping his eyes.

"The others sent me to come get you," I said. It wasn't exactly the truth, but it wasn't a lie, either. "We're all really worried about you."

"You didn't seem so worried went you left and never came back," he snapped.

I took a step back.

"I... I'm sorry," he said. "I didn't mean... I just want to be alone for a while."

I nodded. "Alright, but be back by morning. And try to get some sleep."

I turned around again, about to head off, but then someone appeared in front of me.

Someone I wasn't expecting to see.
