Cassandra:

The needle of the clock was close to one and I kept my fingers crossed hoping they'd come back safe and sound. Aurora entered the room with a grave expression and sat down beside me. She then stroked a few strands of my hair, smiled slightly, and pushed those strands behind my ear.

"I know about your past and the fudging piece of crap named Brian." She told me. I could see her forehead crease slightly and her eyes fill with rage. I just smiled. She cares about me.

She looked at me and pulled me into a hug. I could feel her giving out a protective aura wrapping me like a comforting shield.

" You do know that I don't need your pity, right?" I asked her.

She gave out a short humorless laugh and exclaimed, "Pity? Hell, no. I feel so proud to have you as our Luna. If that pup is even within a mile around you, I will make sure his death be so painful that he wished he went to hell instead. I will make him regret every little act of his and beg for forgiveness. Beg for death."

I gulped thinking about his possible fate in her hands. Her sea-green eyes were turning a beautiful glowing turquoise blue showing that her wolf was fighting for control. I could hear cracking of bones and her claws poking my skin through my thin top. I had never seen an angry Aurora before. She looked so beautiful and frightening that it could make a grown man pee his pants.

"Umm... Aurora?" I struggled in vain to get out of her iron grip. I had to remind myself that she is an Alpha too. So, I resorted to wrapping my arms around her and rubbing her back soothingly and not saying a word.

I wondered if Mathew ever had a similar episode of temper. He has a strong wolf too. He too always seems to give off a protective aura that was just as strong as Aurora's.

Well, Anton... I can't exactly say he gives out a protective Aura. But, he is quite strong and frightens me sometimes...

not

He frightens me all the time.

Yup! I'm human. It is quite unnatural for me to be strong and brave all the time. The last incident where Anton almost forced the mating process on me had just been another nail to the coffin.

Minutes passed...

Aurora jerked her head towards the door. I saw her human ears perk up slightly. Her eyes fogged over as she mind-linked someone.

She looked at me with wide eyes snapping back to herself in a moment. The moment I saw her worried sea-green eyes,  I knew this was about her parents. "What is it, Aura?" I still dared to ask.

She just stood up swiftly and grabbed my hand and dragged out the door. "How did you know this was going to happen, Cass?" She asked me, her tone quick and urgent while we strode briskly across the hall and out of the packhouse.
