Isabelle's POV

Within the blink of an eye, he had leaped across the wooden window sill---and eventually out of the window in an instant. If not that he wasn't any cat, I'm sure he would've had multiple fractures by now.

"Minuet!!". I called out but it was of no use as he can't hear me. Did he do that purposely or what?

What the-

I mused a bit as realization struck me and recalled my Grandma's words carefully: "Follow the black cat". "Make wise decisions".

Instead of running after the black cat, I found myself laughing at the absurd situation I had gotten myself into. This is just pure madness. That was only a dream and a pure coincidence. And where did that same dream land you to? A small voice at the back of my head asked. I shrugged and turned my attention back to the window.

"Would I really jump out of the window in the middle of the night? Would I chase after some creature because I was told so in a freaking dream? That's a whole lot of insanity!" I shook my head at how ridiculous I found it--- and how my parents would react when they found out I was gone latter in the morning. There would be so many consequences attached to this risk. "No, I can't risk it, maybe some other time".

With a small yawn, I collapsed into the couch, sighing as I clutched my blanket tightly to warm myself a bit. I never had a proper sleep of mind. I can't believe this was what woke me up! I've to try as much as possible to get some sleep, maybe then all these hallucinations would eventually reduce.

I tried my best to shut my eyes, but each time I did that, the walls around me started making some sort of scary creaky noises. First, it would feel like I'm about to be swallowed by the couch then some creepy voices start to whisper near my ears. This was kinda odd as if...I was being watched.

Its like the house decided to make me lose my mind as I lost my chance with that cat! What's with this cat? Everytime I go against it, I never have a peace of mind. It's one hallucination or the other, ugh. The creaky noise continued, snapping me out of my angry thoughts.

Shoot.

Even the house's against me now!

But it's not fair! There's no way I'm following a stranger. I still haven't gotten over the fact that Minuet is Minuet - a freaking human...cat...being, whatever!

What if...what grandma said is true?

I mean...everything felt so real...

I can't make the mistakes of betraying my grandma.

I can't believe I'm doing this.

"Hey! Wait up!". I yelled quietly and ran straight for my door.

Wait...who I'm I kidding?

Going through the front door would be so slow, and I'd have lost him by then.

Carefully, I made my legs dangle over the window sill, biting my lips at the fear of heights.

Closing my eyes, I vaulted once I was sure of the calculations on my safe landing. A scratchy squeak left my lips when I landed with a squelch on the muddy grass below me.

I'm alive?!

Well, thank the Gods!

And...

Eww!

I felt irritated at the mossy ground and tried to shove off the weeds and leaves that got stuck to my face. Somehow, I even managed to spit some out eventually. Thanks to this, I'd spend a lifetime in the bathtub today.

Still trying to find my bearings, I looked around in search of the arrogant cat. To my surprise, right in the middle of the backyard was the very garden I kept having dreams of, I could even spot a tea table not far away.

How come I never get to see this place...?

Oh right...

My parents of course..

But I couldn't see the cat anywhere! He shouldn't have gone that far!

As if on cue, something colourful flashed from besides me furiously. If I hadn't seen it in the first place, I'd doubt that it was ever there.

"You showing up is something I never imagined". The familiar voice cooed, making me turn abruptly. "Well, that saved me from hardwork".

The cat was back in his human version, seriously how does he always do that? I'm starting to wonder if he's even a human.

"Don't take it the wrong way...". I stomped in anger when he folded his arms with an entertained look in his eyes. "I'm doing it because I'm forced to!".

Something about his face seemed a little off but before I could scold him any further, he transformed within an instant back to his cat form, and leaped away.

"Seriously?!". I groaned and hollered at his annoying personality. "You're leaving again?! Where are you going this time? The bushes?!".

He paused in his tracks and gestured for me to follow him; by darting his eyes from me to the woods. Are you serious?

How rude..

"H-hey! Don't ignore me!". I yelled as he slowly disappeared from my sight.

Hmph!

That bastard!

Doesn't he know I'm a human!?

Great....he's gone into the woods-

-now if I don't catch up, I'm gonna lose tracks of him..

Darn it!
