Everything went just as planned - as all judgements and resolutions were sealed between both parties - Supernaturals and hunters, in the Manor.
But still, where was Minuet?
It seemed like he had disappeared into the thin air after the proclaimation of his freedom.
It wouldn't do me any good if I stay amongst the hunters for a long time without considering my moonshine's disappearance.
And I needed to tell him so many things in so many ways.
"Minuet?". I called out, standing at the edge of the hall for any response but there was none. "I know you're around here somewhere! Windows are your favorite spots of hiding".
I felt a sting of sadness and guiltiness when he didn't answer. I wonder where he could have gone to?
"Minuet Alastair!".
"Don't be worried too much about me princess". A soft voice said, followed with a small thud.
Following the direction of the voice, I could see Minuet sitting on the rail of the rooftop's balcony.
"Are you crazy?! What if you fall from there, come down at once!".
"I should come down?". He shook his head with a sarcastic laugh. "I've been like this for a long time and you think I'd just fall?".
"Now's not the time for tricks! Don't die yet, or I'd punish you in your grave".
He let out a surprised laugh and turned his head towards my approaching figure. He didn't seem comfortable as I approached him and kept keeping a distance from me.
"Fine fine. Why do you even care? You've gotten your freedom from me". He shrugged and came down reluctantly.
Okay...
He's hiding something.
"Turn around". I squinted my eyes as I noticed his back was stiff as he was moving the whole time.
"No". He replied flatly. "You can't just come to me and tell me what to do, young lady".
Defensive side popping up in him - Check.
"Why not?". I raised my eyebrows. "After all, I'm yet to be the queen...you just disappeared throughout the bids and seals".
He shifted his eyes elsewhere. "Oh that...I...was having some time to cool off on my own".
Stuttering and lying - Check.
Okay, he's obviously hiding something!
"What's behind you, Minuet?".
"What do you mean...behind me?". He cut in rudely, turning his face away from me.
I closed the gap between us and glanced at the black blurry thing that was sticking out from behind his back. Hmm, is he doing some kind of surprise?
"Minuet...". I sighed and wrapped my arms around him. He didn't get to hug me back but I could feel the tension on him calm down bit by bit. The sudden coldness of his skin made me jerk back instinctively. His skin wasn't this cold like before, what was wrong with him?
I could feel his stare on me as I battled with my thoughts. When my attention came back to his face, my eyes locked with a completely different eyeballs. His eyes were not only slit and thin but they were crimson. His fangs weren't the cute ones I knew before, they were scary-looking now.
Still trembling in fear, I noticed that he had turned away from me now, and in the process of doing that, his back revealed the one thing he was hiding the whole time.
