Chapter Fifty Eight - Betrayal

What should I do?

"Remember it's the same goddamned guy that played us around, it's up to you this time...I'm not deciding for you, not anymore".

"We're not attacking...". I closed my eyes and stared at the already glowing full moon in the skylight. "I'm sorry...all these keeps pushing me against the wall".

"Oh". Minuet rolled his eyes.

Of course I was disappointing...

I always am..

But something doesn't still feel right...

I can feel it.

"Hey...". My lips twisted into a frown as Minuet wasn't looking me the whole time but at Xander.

Does he hate him that much?

I followed his glare and saw Xander neutralizing some effects of the spell that the creep had cast on him earlier. He had a crimson ring on his left finger and something nasty on his right hand.

Before I knew it, Minuet started saying the exact things Xander was saying.

Like exactly!

My eyes widened. "H-how did you know?".

"Hmm?". Minuet turned to me with a questioning look.

"I-I thought it was only Witch Hunters'...that umm...you know...". I couldn't finish my sentence because I didn't want it to sound like something offensive at the same time.

"The very person that have been with me for a quite long time is saying that I'm a hunter as well?". He choked out a cold laugh and grabbed my neck firmly.

"N-no...". I shook my head slowly.

"If I was a hunter Isabelle...". His eyes narrowed at me for a while before his eyes met my trembling eyes. "You wouldn't even have known me at first because...you wouldn't even have the chance to".

My face went pale in fear.

He let go of me and tilted his head back at Xander.

"Well, my dad was a hunter, but that's not his main priority". He started. "My mum...not a big fan of his work, but she's...not human either".

A-a hunter?!

I really d-did not see that coming...

"I've always wanted to ask about your parents but...I didn't want to look nosy. What happened to them?".

He went silent.

"Did Xander do...do anything?!".

He then gave me a creepy smile and focused back on me now.

"Only one of them survived that night under this same full moon because of Alexis".

"Grandma?!". My eyes widened. Grandma couldn't have done that.

"No, she's the one that brought me up after that". He said.

"Oh". I muttered in realization.

"I'm really...sorry about that Minuet". I sighed. "I never thought of it that way".

I couldn't imagine what Minuet went through in the hands of these persons.

I've to avenge for him big time.

"We're doing it Minuet". I declared.

"Doing?". He raised an eyebrow clueless of my point.

"This...". I inhaled a bit and let the unknown force of nature take over my body, now transforming it to Blair.
