I was too ashamed to even look into Xander's eyes at the moment after everything I did to him.
"I don't hate you Xander b-but...". I stuttered and bit my swollen lips a little at how awkward this was.
"Hard to believe that". He closed his eyes for a moment with a small smile.
I needed this guy to trust me enough to get Minuet out of this horrible place but now he thinks I hate him it's over for me.
"You promised to talk things out with me". I changed the subject and stared into the distance.
"As long as you don't slap me that is". He joked but I couldn't still help but feel guilty.
"That was unintentional". I sighed and held his hand with an apologetic look.
"Like I said..you can do to me whatever you want but in the meantime, ask me whatever you want then". He smiled and walked away, which meant I've to follow him.
We both ended up at a beautiful and luxurious garden. For once I almost mistaken it with the one in my dream but the sight of a statues within the garden made me snap out of the daydream.
"What are you drooling at belle?". He tilted his head at me with his arms crossed over his chest.
"You saw nothing". I quickly said and made few steps from him nervously.
He just shook his head with a smile and sat on a wooden bench next to a swing amongst the shrubs in the garden.
Given by his look I was to sit besides him which I was going to do of course. I guess we still had to sort out our indifferences after all.
"I guess you're probably gonna look for a way to convince me to let him go now, aren't you?".
"I uhm...". I lowered my face a bit ashamed and grabbed the edge of my sleeve to calm myself down.
"Go ahead tell me one meaningful reason why I should let him go". He crossed his legs and stared into the sky coldly.
"I guess you're doing the right thing for your parents huh".
"Oh you know....". He raised his eyebrows in surprise.
"He told me...". I whispered.
"Hmm, then why should I let the demon go?". His look darkened.
"What are you going to do to him?". I asked, barely hiding my fear.
"It's not in my hands to decide that you know". He confessed.
"W-what do you mean?".
"Did you really think I'm the only hunter?". He chuckled.
So there are more...?
"How many of you?". I narrowed my eyes at him.
"Hold on there nosy, I thought you said you don't want any more blood". He laughed.
"I-i'm not killing anyone really". My face went red.
"Oh won't your race be furious of your intentions then?". He asked.
"Dammit Xander, stop messing with my head!". I frowned.
He laughed more. "Why? It's fun after all....Blair".
"Don't use her against me now". I frowned.
"It's funny cause she's still you and you alone even though it's still difficult for me to believe".
"And it's funny how I've been crushing on a hunter all along". I blurted out, shaking my head in disbelief.
"W-what?". That was the first time I've seen him so flustered and surprised at the same time before.
"If you let him go I just might tell you more on what you need to hear". I whispered.
"Don't be so tempting now". He frowned.
"Tempting? That's quite unlike me". I chuckled.
His lips twisted into a small smile before looking away probably to clear his head off.
"But it's crazy don't you think?". I mumbled.
"I guess so...I mean ...I've always wondered why you created the version of Blair". He tapped his chin thoughtfully.
"Uhm...you wouldn't really want to know..trust me". I mumbled a little embarrassed of my earlier intentions.
"Now I'm more curious". He grinned.
"Seriously it's embarrassing". I rolled my eyes.
"Aw, that's too bad cause I'm not letting it slide off my hand even though we're barely friends". He cooed.
F-friends?
That's it?
"Well you should've already guessed that by now Hunters...". I groaned in anger.
He went silent for a while.
"You didn't have to hide the true you Isabelle. Not that I don't prefer your other version but I prefer the real you more".
My heart melted.
"Stop trying to be nice it's creeping me out already". I face palmed.
"Is it that bad to be sincere?". He laughed.
"Yes it is". I stated.
He laughed a little. "You really need to stop trying to impress everyone and try for once to impress yourself".
"Says the king of temptations". I taunted.
"It isn't my fault I'm not human". He yawned dramatically.
"So you basically have maybe just....maybe....some skills?". I avoided using magic in the question.
"Of course but I never abuse it". He gave a knowing look.
"Stop giving my head mixed feelings at this moment would you?". I held my head.
"Mixed feelings?". He asked with wonder in his voice.
