Isabelle's POV

Mmm...I heard something last night but I can't just recall exactly what it was.

Huh? What's that sensation?!

I felt something wet and sticky against my cheeks and the tingling sensation made the inside of me terribly nice.

But worse- I wasn't ready to get off the bed and face my greatest fear either. Minuet should have guessed that by now as well, I wanna cool my head off a bit- so why is he trying to get me to school!

"Get off me Minuet!".

A groan escaped my lips as I rubbed my eyes with the back of my palms from the radiating sunlight. I could tell it was already morning from the sweet scent of flowers and the chirping of birds in their nests. My magic could pick up some sounds from some distance.

"You'd need to go to school and face that hunter angel". A feminine voice said besides me, and when I squinted my eyes a bit, I saw that it wasn't Minuet- but a familiar elderly figure with a huge grin at the corner of her lips.

Angel?!

Could it be Grandma?

I shook my head immediately at how ridiculous it sounded- only for me to see my mum coming into the room at the moment. I was very confused indeed to see mum entering the room the moment I opened my eyes. I thought I saw someone right in front of me just now.

Stupid hallucinations...

"Good your awake Isabelle, you're thirty minutes late for school". She snapped, holding on to a bowl of water in her arms. "Now get up!".

Good thing that water didn't get on me...

"I'm not going to school mum". I answered in a firm and annoyed tone while glaring at her.

"Don't make me call your dad now". She snorted and folded her arms with a surprised expression on her face.

"Go ahead, I'm still not...I'm...". I stiffened when her gaze shifted to my bandaged leg, there's no doubt she'd ignore that for sure.

"Before you say anything mum, it was a mere accident at school". I rolled my eyes and removed the blanket covering my body before sitting upright. "I'm not ready to be limping all over school like a kangaroo".

Well, if you're wondering if I'm still Blair, nope- I'm Isabelle. Yesternight's event wore off the beauty spell pretty fast before sunrise.

"Isabelle I-". She approached me with anger and stopped when something blurry came to her feet.

The black cat crawled it's way to my bed then to my thighs, wagging it's tail before raising it's head in warning at my mother.

There you are!

"And I've to take care of Minuet mum...it's just been a week". I tried to sound as convincing as possible.

"A month, Isabelle ". She corrected.

A month!?

"Mum, please...just this once, please? ". I clasped my hands together to beg for her cooperation. Usually, I would just ignore her and do my stuffs but I was so fucked off with stuffs that I had to beg her this time.

"Fine fine...be down for breakfast". She let out a defeated sigh and walked away at once.

A huge wave of relief hit me and smiled as I saw the black cat staring at me as he leaped besides me. From his cat expression, I could tell that he was either ready to mock or praise me.

"Don't even think about it". I hit my hand on my forehead with a sigh as he already transformed into human version.

He just wore a smirk and squatted besides me. "So what's the plan now, you sneaky furtive stalker".

Before I could shout at him my phone started to buzz on my dressing table. From the dark look Minuet now wore, I knew that whoever was calling was calling at the wrong time indeed.

I mouthed for Minuet to get it but he only glared at it from afar and walked away from me.

"Minuet!".

He suddenly snatched the phone then threw it at my direction- and lucky enough for me, I was able to catch it just in time.

The name on my screen and the picture of the dialer as well made my blood run cold immediately, now I know why Minuet didn't want to get it.

I barely could reach out my hands to accept or reject the call as I was struck with shock- this is the last person I want to see or talk to at the moment.

Why me?

"Oh no...it's him!". I groaned in a nervous squeaky tone and turned abruptly to the angry figure leaning against the wall at the dressing table. "M-minuet, what do I do?".

"It's your decision". He said flatly. "Not mine". He's still mad at me, isn't he?

I held my breath as I turned my head back to the buzzing phone. I'm not in the right state of mind to pick this up- what would I say? I'd lash out at him before he even says a word.

Sorry Xander...

I let the phone ring until it went into a voicemail. With a sigh, I switched off my phone and walked to the pissed guy by the wall.

"Minuet...". I called, but he didn't respond.

Okay I need to coo him a bit...

"Does kitty need a hug? Even though my legs wouldn't agree...my arms would". I cooed, trying to maintain my composure and sat besides him- that finally caught his attention and caught him by surprise as well.

"Why? Aren't you scared or mad at me?". He asked in a small gentle voice. "You're trying to act like yesterday didn't happen".

"That was partly my fault, I tried pushing you against the wall". I whispered over our mindlink.

"Say the truth to my face". He mindlinked back with an annoyed groan.

I knew what he was getting at but I didn't want him to look weak here- so I avoided answering directly to his question.

"Friends always have misunderstandings, it's part of life". I propped my elbow and placed my chin on my palms as I stared at the sulking guy. "I can't remain mad at you forever you know that".

He let out a long shaky sigh before curving the edge of his lips into a smile.

"Yeah, that's what I wanna see!". I chuckled and clapped my hands for his efforts. "A smile!".

A blush creeped up my face as I watched him transform back into his cat form, laying his head against my sides.

Taking a deep breath, I began to stroke his fur slowly in soothing small circles. For now, that's what he as a cat would need to calm down.

It wasn't long- when I felt his chest begin rise and fall against my skin, which means he was sound asleep.

No no no...he shouldn't have slept like this!

"He's so-". I whispered to myself with a smile and stared at the fur ball that was curled up against my sides. "-warm and soft".

The poor guy didn't sleep huh...

I don't know why but I guess it's because of how soft his body was- I pressed my lips against his forehead shortly.

Before I could say anything, I choked out a sob and let my emotions drain out of me at once. Now that he can't see me, I can cry my heart out.

I'm sorry, Minuet...

For everything...
