Chapter Fifty Nine - A terrible mistake

Before Julius shot me one of her energies Minuet had already created a defensive aura around us for safety. It's like he knew what was even going to happen.

I was still in shock.

She was the least person I expected to be the person behind all these chaos.

Julius is like you Isabelle.

You've to accept that as well..

She's one of your kind too..

I kept telling myself mentally and tried not to look so weak at her appearance.

"A friend of Xander is an enemy of ME!". She shouted, with her voice echoing deeply at the end of every walls. "Two!".

I need to make her trust me...

I need to get that damn book back from her before she does something that'd ruin everything!

"This douchebag my friend? Pfft, he's a hunter point of correction...are you blind or something?".

"Oh is that so?". She asked. "Three!".

"Isn't it obvious? He tried to kill me once". I tried to keep cool and walk towards her direction with the hissing cat still dangling on my shoulders.

"If any of you make a single move or try to stop me....these balls would feel your vibration and shoot at you before you even open your mouth to say a thing". She suddenly snapped, with some balls of energy ready to be shot at me.

Oh no.

I could literally feel Minuet's warmth rising on my shoulder now. That familiar warmth coming back to my senses all at once. The same one that saved and killed.

If I'm not careful Minuet's gonna be a beast that'd kill everyone here..

What to do...

"Hey, what makes you actually think I'm with a hunter really?!". I frowned, shifting my glare back to the cold girl.

"Oh you wanna know now?". She laughed coldly.

Silence.

"That cat is Isabelle's...I was there when she adopted it and took it as hers. What did you two do to her?!". She spat out, accidentally sending some waves of her energy to the other side angrily.

I could hear the dramatic drums in the background of my mind when I realised I had made a huge mistake. A terrible huge mistake. This...is why I never wanted to be close to Julius when I discovered I had powers.

"I can let you two talk about Isabelle anyhow you want but accusing someone I know of isn't what I'd stand watching". Xander said in a serious cold tone. "Freaks".

Julius burst into a bitter laughter and started floating above the ground.

"Now all this is all clear...you broke the spell on her bluff". She chuckled bitterly.

"Uhh first of all, it's Blair and secondly, what kind of friend uses mind control on her best friend!".

"Oh you're talking like you know her more than me now". She taunted. "Interesting".

"I'm just standing up for something that's right, don't get me wrong!".

"And that's what I'm doing....carrying her away from danger". She said with a sad smile and hurt in her eyes.

Wait wait wait...

"And someone denied that she didn't have feelings for you".

"Shut up Minuet! I'm straight!".

Minuet hit his paws on my shoulder like to tell me to accept fate itself.

"Don't tell me you tried to do all these to get her interest".

"And what if I was?". She spat out.

"Then you'd be the worst friend I've...she have ever seen, hatred would be the only thing you'd see in her". I roared while clenching my fists.

"That's why I hypnotized her last night, I won't be very surprised that you two are dating...I mean you even stood up for her".

Xander and I burst out into laughter coincidentally.

"Of all people you claim to know Isabelle, what a shame". He muttered under his shaky breath.

"Why do you defend this girl in particular so much?". I asked in surprise.

"Why do I-".

"I'm guessing the same answer's ' I shouldn't be around someone I don't know of course' ". I cut in, rolling my eyes.

His eyes widened and I mentally slapped myself for what I said.

That was a clue to my identity!

"You're really quite the interesting lady aren't you Blair...always spying into everyone's life like you always do huh?". He gave me a smirk before chuckling and dragging the chains that were sunken into his flesh.

The sicken noise that followed his action made me flinch in fear and frustration.

"My my, the great Blair is scared of blood?". He shook his head and trailed his fingers to the deepest part of his cuts.

"Shut up you".

I turned my attention back to the crazy witch in the hallway.

"Isabelle doesn't need any of you to survive on her own, she's way better and safer without any of you!".

"Oh is that so? Then come forward and prove your loyalty to your kind".

If I comply with her I could stop her somehow...

Before I could make a step Minuet's eyes flashed the amber colour which I took as a hint of danger.

"If you make a step you're dead meat Isabelle...that circle she created has access to all the groundings so one move and your soul would be hers".

The knot in my stomach tightened at Minuet's mind link warning.

Of course I was too angry to notice the lines that connected each other to my direction.

"You've quite the smart familiar I've to say". Xander said from behind, startling me.

"H-how did you-".

"I'm a hunter, what did you expect?". His eyebrows rose at me.

"Enough Xander! I've spared you enough!". Julius' eyes flashed blood-red as the danger meant for me went straight at him.

"X-xander!". I involuntarily shouted.

And like the maniac he is, he didn't move from the danger and embraced it.

Luckily just in time I stomped my feet and created a wall of defense for the two of us at once.

But I guess I was still late as always.

Some of the forces had already sunken into his head before I could completely secure him.

Oh no.

"Go ahead kill me Julius, but neither Isabelle nor Blair would agree to your madness". He moaned in between pained laughters.

He needs to shush, he's only making her more angry!

"I. Said. Enough!". Julius roared and flickered her arms causing whatever she had implanted in him to kill him slowly.

The impact of what she was doing was obviously making the walls to give its means of support away slowly.
