Although the subject that was being taught was intriguing, I couldn't help but shoot Xander a glare and also get lost in thoughts.

For all I knew, I'd never forgive Xander for almost killing me back then - even though it was clearly one of the redheads, Julius or Amy. It was just becoming too much for me already.

"I probably guess you guys all think Witches are the old grumpy and ugly green hags you see on TV everyday". The words felt like it was shot to me directly as I turned my attention to my teacher at once. The topic was quite a fascinating one as it deals with ancient myths and beliefs.

Of course the class burst into laughter at his words but me being guilty, I just moped and glanced around the classroom guiltily.

"Sorry to disappoint you guys but it's not so..". She announced, shaking her head with a small giggle.

The classroom was now dead silence.

"They're like you and I, they tend to blend in perfectly among humans. They're not evil as you all think they are, they're quite helpful and understandable". She further explained.

Of course I'm normal!

I'm not old and green!

Thank you!

"B-but don't they cast spells on others and I don't know...kill people?!". Someone asked, earning agreements from the rest.

"They do that when they feel insecured or threatned, they are normally tracked down by other people who see nothing but disgust and evil in them".

"Hunters". I cursed under my breath.

"What was that Isabelle?". She asked and turned at me with a grin.

All eyes were on me now probably because she mentioned my name I guess. I didn't realize I had said it out loud actually.

"I umm...thought that..uhh...". I prayed for anything reasonable and meaningful to come out from my mouth but I found none.

"Your correct! Those are called hunters...witch hunters that is! I never even mentioned this earlier, how did you know?". She asked in amazement and gave me a thumbs up before continuing her explanation.

"You see long time ago, there was a sorceress called Branwen Sophie. She was indeed a very fair and kind lady, and of course most men fell for her beauty and kind words yet no one knew her secret. Each day passed and men from all over town came to ask her hand in marriage but still she refused them all. Until one day, one of the men planned with the other men to teach her a lesson since she was too proud and arrogant..".

Poor Sophie...

"What did they do to her Miss?". Someone asked.

"That's for you all to find out". She demanded and sat in her chair to have some rest.

With a gulp, I turned to my side to see Xander not paying attention to us, especially me! Of course he wouldn't, maybe this whole thing pushed his buttons a bit. I just hope this teacher won't be a victim for his anger.

"But aren't these like a kind of legends or myths?". I quickly asked, to avoid being suspicious to Xander in anyway.

"Well who knows? Legends are legends after all". She rubbed her chin thoughtfully before shrugging it off.

Or are they?

The bell rung just in time, but don't get me wrong. This was a two hours class but it sounded like a ten minutes because I ended up paying attention at the dying minutes.

"Uhm Mrs Selena, can I have a word with you?". I asked when I was sure the rest of the students were out of earshot .

"Sure Isabelle, what's it?". She replied and placed her hands on her hips patiently.

"It's just a random question though". I laughed nervously before taking a deep breath.

"How does a witch weaken a hunter?". I asked, nervously fidgeting with my fingers.

I needed to stay less suspicious and most importantly stay low.

"My my, you're quite intrigued in this topic Wintman". She brushed some curls of hair from her face and gave me a sweet grin. "That's surprising".

"What can I say? Knowledge is power". I cut in with a nervous smile.

"That's why your my favourite student".

"But of course....do take a seat". She suggested and gestured to the seat before her desk.

Oh no, this is gonna take a long time..

"To weaken a hunter is almost impossible by a witch herself". She started, glancing around the empty classroom awkwardly.

"Why?". I asked a little disappointed at her simple answer.

I expected more of spells, traps, poison..I don't know, anything witchy!

Isn't that witches do after all?

"Hunters are everywhere and always one step ahead of a witch. The only way to stay away is when a witch trusts her emotions and try as much as possible to stay updated on these hunters' movements. I could explain the full procedures and all that the next class sweetie. I'm sorry but I've got something to attend to, hm?".

Emotions?

That was....

Unexpected?
