Curiosity Kills The Cat

Alida POV

2 days later, I was accompanying Luna in one of her visits to a nearby orphanage. She gave a speech as I remained at her side all that time. I also think about the threat Ardyn gave me, making me worried about Ravus. I stared blankly into the sky as Luna continued to help the children there. The sun's really bright today. Smiling, I wonder how Ravus is doing back at the manor.

"Hey, Alida. Yoohoo! Earth to Alida" Luna pat my shoulder happily.

I snapped out of my daydream and l turned around to her direction

"Oh, Luna! you surprised me there. What's up?"

"You have been looking into nothing while smiling again. Are you thinking about my brother?"

I shot a surprised look at Luna, and she giggled.

"I-it's not like that! I was just looking at how bright the sun is today"

Luna smiled cheekily and shot me a smug look. While getting closer she walks slyly making her way around me.

"DON'T think I haven't noticed how you guys acted around each other. But no worries, I actually supported both of you."

Luna grabbed my hand and swayed it happily, I chuckled at her response. As we rode back to the manor, Luna invited me to her room to chat. We chatted for hours, discussing her role and of course Noctis. She and Noctis remained in contact as they passed the notebook back and forth every week.

"So, how's your relationship with Noctis? Has he sent over the usual notebook?"

Grabbing the book, Luna showed it to me.

"Of course he has sent it! He also gave me a photo of him with his friend. His friend is his advisor, like you"

Luna opened up the book and skirmishes through the pages to find it. Then she pointed to the photo that was taken. A teen Noctis and a rather tall figure wearing glasses. I decided to tease Luna for a bit.

"Have you ever thought of doing romantic things with Noct?"

Luna blushed hearing my words and silently nodded. Aww young love, what a wonderful thing it is. I laughed and told her to calm down, and as life said karma struck.

"And how about you Alida? Have you ever thought about things other than holding hands with Ravus, hmm?"

There she is with her smiley and smug face again. In the front, she's an angel, but once you get to know her she likes to tease slyly like a little devil. But she's not wrong, even though me and Ravus have held hands, we haven't had our first kiss yet. I became flustered and felt as if fumes came out of my ears. Luna just laughed as she already knew what I was thinking. After that, Luna went for her academic lessons, and alas I'm alone again. Wandering through the manor, greeting the maids and guards I decided to go to the library.

As I entered the library, the scent of old papers filled the air. The library is huge, there are stairs up and down. The wooden railings are so old that there are holes and bruises on its surfaces. I began to pick some books and I went over to the tables and chairs that are available besides the garden. I usually went to the library when I got bored, so this is my hobby now. Reading fiction novels is my favorite thing to do, especially the drama, slice of life, and romantic genre. And no I don't read those over erotic novels, it's poison for me. It makes me sick thinking of doing that and it literally crushes my naive self when I got too curious and continue to read it

A few years ago
