The next morning came by, shining upon the ruined town square of Alnwick. The ambush from last night gladly didn't cause major disadvantages for us. But still, some repairs and renovations are needed. Ravus mentioned that he will be donating some of his fortunes to help the townspeople get back on their feet. The chilly breeze gave me shivers as I opened my room window. Remembering what happened last night traumatized me. Big brother.....I shed tears even when I think about it.
"Are you all set?" Ravus patted my shoulder, snapping me out of my lost self.
I turned to Ravus, looking downcast. I stared at his concerned eyes and nodded. Both of us have packed our things into each of our luggage. I placed my hands on Ravus', holding it in place.
"Is everything going to be alright in Alnwick? Last night made me very scared of the Imperial Army rushing in like that again." I exclaimed with a whimper
Ravus hugged me in comfort, brushing my hair softly. His clothes wafted the scent of mellow Lavender flowers again today.
"It will be, I have already marked this place as one of the most prioritized areas for its security." He talked with a soothing tone.
We pulled away, staring deeply into each other's eyes. I gave him my usual grin, making him smile back at me. It's also sad to leave the mansion today, I really want to spend more time here. Thank heavens when we got to the mansion last night, my father is alright. He also asked us about my brother, with a heavy heart I told him the sorrowful news. The thing about my brother betraying our father remains a secret between me, Ravus, and him. So that father doesn't have to disown my brother as long as he lived.
"I will have to speak with your father first before we depart. I will be right back, my soon to be wife" He kissed my hands, leaving me blushing at the word "Soon to be wife"
I pecked his cheek, returning the kiss he gave me tiptoeing my feet. Even before we got married, it already felt as if we had tied the knot. Ravus turned away and was about to leave the room when he glanced at me.
"How about you give him a visit? I went to his room earlier and he is already awake" Ravus said with a smirk on his face
My face lit up with relief and put my hands together.
"R-really? He's awake?" I asked Ravus cheerfully, unable to contain my happiness that it made him chuckled
"Why don't you go check it out yourself?" He lifted his arms to the direction of the room
I was so excited that I zoomed past Ravus to the room next to us.
Ravus POV
I was pleased to see Alida running so excitedly. I then make my way around the hallway to her father's office. I looked around the portraits around the hallway as I walked. Admiring every single beauty in those pictures. I arrived in front of the office door, a dark mahogany wood double door. I knocked at the door first to let him know.
"Come in" A voice from the other side of the room responded
I opened the double door, and the air was filled with the smell of old wood. In front of me is Ignatius sitting on the desk with his hands put together. He quickly noticed my presence and stood up to bow.
"It is good to see you doing well this morning, Your Highness" He greeted me with a sincere smile.
"It is also a pleasure to have you here healthy and fine, Ignatius" I bowed at him in respect.
I then closed the doors and walked in front of the desk. His face is surprisingly calm despite the incident that had befallen on him last night.
"How are you doing, especially with last night's incident?" I asked with a worried tone
