Then the mansion door swung open, revealing a familiar figure. White hair between his black locks, a beard, his straight posture, his dark-colored attire, his warm eyes. He stood there in shock, eyes widened as he couldn't believe who is in front of him. I grinned at him while holding my palms in front of my chest
"Papa, I'm home-"
Before I could finish my sentence, he threw himself to me, holding me in his loving arms, just like that day. He didn't say anything, but I can tell he really missed me so much. I embraced him, unable to control my tears. I cried right there alongside him.
"I-I missed you so much, Papa. I really do....I-I.."
I gripped into his suit tighter, so did his grip on me. He shushed me and patted my head. Both of us stayed in that position for a long time before he pulled to take a clear look at my face. He lifted my head, meeting his eyes.
"Look how much you have grown, Alida. After all these years, I finally get to see my little girl again."
Wiping tears from my face, I stared at his old wrinkled face. He has gotten much older since then, his hair has much more white ones now. I stuttered and smiled widely at him, hugging him back.
"I'm sorry, I haven't visited you in years. You must have gotten lonely here without me."
"Since when has that been a matter? The most important thing is that you are here right now, at home."
Then, I pulled away from his arms. Ravus was right, my father is fine and healthy. I turned back to Ravus and gestured for him to come. Ravus lowered his mask and walked towards me and my father. My father then recognized him, after he looked at Ravus' silver locks. My father stared at Ravus with a warm smile and bowed to Ravus.
"I'm forever in your debt, Your Highness. I thanked you deeply in my heart that you have brought my daughter here. It is an honor of having you come over to the Willfates mansion"
"Please, you do not need to bow, as the pleasure is mine."
Father then stood up as he heard Ravus' words. My heart fluttered as I saw the sight of my father and Ravus like this. Happy tears began to trickle down my face, as I smiled with my eyes closed.
"Both of you must be tired, come in now."
My father instructed us to come in, me and Ravus grabbed each of our luggage. But as I walked in, I can't shake off the feeling as if we were being watched. As we walked through the hallway, I began to reminisce about my memories as I saw many nostalgic objects. We chatted as we walked towards my room.
"Here's your room, Alida. Just like when you remember it. And Your Highness, I can give you the room beside Alida's-"
But then my father went silent and thought deeply. Then what he response made me lose my marbles
"How about Alida prepare an extra bed in her room? Both of you can share it together."
I looked at my father in a crazed state, what was in my father's head when this happened? But when I take a look at Ravus, he's just as calm as he is.
"Alright, let us rest for the day."
I quickly shot a WHAT look at Ravus. I get flustered and started to make up some excuses
"W-wait! Isn't the room beside mine vacant, Papa? "
"Well, when I think again by tomorrow morning it will be occupied. Since he would be home tomorrow, Alida."
Oh, him. Damn it, big brother, why have you got to ruin my night. On the other hand, at least I get to be alone with Ravus. But I'm still afraid of what he might try to do like that time.
