Hammond POV

It was just a fine afternoon, the sun's shining bright. I was testing a few recipes that I just had thought of, unfortunately, nothing turned out good. It is also rather hard to cook with just one arm, of course, I have some assistance.

"So, using lemon zest adds a fresh taste in the batter?" A tender yet direct voice asked me

"That's right, I want to do it by myself but it seems I need a helping hand here" I flashed my puppy eyes to her, pouting my mouth.

"You idiot, just let me help while you focus on the recipe" She scowled, turning her head from me in embarrassment making me chuckle.

We have been seeing each other for a few months now. Since that night at Tenebrae, I couldn't stop myself from reaching out to her. I tried to flirt a few times with her too, but that ended up with me getting kicked in the nuts. Still, she doesn't mind having me around, I do visit the inn where she is working quite often. At first, she would always ignore me when I tried to talk sweetly with her.

"Hey there, beautiful. You must be a Hell of a thief because you stole my heart from across the room." I winked at her at the front desk.

She rolled her eyes and continued to do her work. I just wanted her name, why is it so hard to ask a simple thing. URGH, my heart's beating really fast seeing her deep and sharp eyes.

"If you don't want to book a room, you can just leave. We don't serve customers that constantly flirt with our workers" She replied with a disgusted face.

I tried and tried, getting her name was way harder than I thought. Later on, she would give me some "care" of her own.

"Geez, why don't you use an umbrella for once? You're soaking wet" She said with an annoyed face.

It is hard to open an umbrella with one arm, not a good memory. Then, a towel got thrown into my face, it's warm. Steam came out, brushing against my face and the cold air. I removed the towel from my face, turns out the girl was the one who threw it at me.

"It would be a problem if one of our customers got sick. Just warm yourself up with that." She looked away from me, her cheeks dusted with red colors.

From then on, she would anticipate my arrival. She just peeks at me sometimes, looking away when I caught her peering. So, I gather up my courage to ask her name.

"What's your name, luv? You haven't even mentioned it even once every time I came here" I asked her with a smirk and sly eyes

"Why do you wanna know? I don't like sharing my name with people who just continuously annoy me." She replied

That hit me really hard in the feels, I almost whimpered. As I was pitying myself on my fate, a low shy voice interrupted

"Callen....it's Callen" She replied looking down on the ground, with bright red cheeks beaming at me.

I stared at her in awe, my heart went fluttering. Seeing this side of her makes me like her even more. Maybe fate has blessed me with this chance to repent.

"What an extraordinary name. The name's Hammond" I chuckled

Thus, my hard work has paid off. After that, we would chat for a moment once in a while. We became close each time we met. Still, she is hot-headed, she wouldn't show me her vulnerability. She does have a sharp tongue too, just like my little sister Alida.

"Don't be mad at me, baby. In any case, the reason why I want to make this is for you to enjoy my cooking, okay?" I rested my head on her shoulder, looking at her whisking some whipped cream.
