Alida POV

I placed down the tray on the desk and went over to Ravus. He shouldn't get out of bed, I can tell he's going to from his posture. I placed my right hand on his chest and my left hand on his forehead. I pushed him lightly, blocking his movements any further.

"Not a chance. You still have the fever and I can see you're very exhausted, resting here is your only choice for now." I lightly scolded him, he's still trying to budge my blockade. "But, my dear. I need to finish the political papers due in two days. I will be fine, a mere fever won't hold me back" He protested, trying to stand up with his body wobbly and unsteady.

I put my hands on his shoulders and pushed him down back to the bed. I stared at him intensely, worried about his health. "No buts, Ravus Nox Fleuret. I'm telling this as your wife, for your own sake. Please just rest for today, you have been overdriving yourself these past few days." I commented with a thoughtful tone.

He just stared at me, clueless what to respond. He knows well I meant it if I used his full name. He slumped his hands on his thighs, staring down for a moment.

"Fine" He let out a deep sigh. I smiled at him and kissed his forehead, relieved with him agreeing to rest. He chuckled, admitting in defeat from my full-frontal argument. He looked curiously at the strap wrapping around my shoulder and chest.

"Why are you wearing those straps? Did something happen to you?" he questioned me with a worried expression. I shook my head off, giggling at Ravus' face. I turned my body to the side, letting Ravus see the bundle on my back.

Earlier...

"Good morning, sis!" My brother greeted me in the kitchen, his face seemed really bright.

"Good morning, big brother. You seem lively today" I replied, with a smirk.

I was cooking some rice porridge for Ravus, hoping it would turn out good. My brother sneaked and went beside me, staring down at the small pot of white goop. Boiling as the sound of the air inside of the porridge goes up.

"Ooohhh, rice porridge. Quite easy to mess up, but effective on those who are sick. It's for your darling husband isn't it?" He narrowed his violet eyes with a cheeky smile, his left hand on his side.

"Yeah and for Lilac as well. She ought to try some solid food, but she's a picky eater. Soft foods are one of the only solutions for now" I explained, stirring the ladle in the pot. My brother acknowledged the information that I gave.

"By the way, where's Lilac? Is she still sleeping?" My brother asked for his lovely niece's whereabouts. I nodded, telling him that she is still upstairs in my old room. "Want me to get her for you, sis?" He offered me a helping hand, I gladly accepted it. I also told him to be careful carrying her here, and not to wake Ravus up.

"Sure thing, sis" He saluted and pranced upstairs. I rolled my eyes, chuckling to myself. I grabbed a tiny bit of the porridge with a spoon, blowing cool air at the hot food. I put it into my mouth, spreading it all over my tongue. It should be enough for Lilac to eat, and Ravus as well. I turned off the stove, serving the porridge into a bowl and a tiny one.

Excited footsteps came from behind me, slurry incoherent baby noises followed. I turned around to be met by my brother gleefully carrying the woken Lilac in his left arm. I giggled and went to cup Lilac's rosy cheeks in my hands. Her face lit up at the sight of my blissful cheer

"Good morning, sweetie. You must be hungry now, mommy's cooked something for you, Lilac" I lifted Lilac up in the air, making her laugh obnoxiously. My brother just smiled and chuckled at me treating Lilac so affectionately. I looked at my cheerful brother with a smile.
