Alida POV
As dinner ended, me, my big brother and Ravus are on our way back to our rooms. My father returned to his office as he had something to take care of. My throat is all dried up thanks to the bickering Hammond caused. I glared at him and he smiled slyly in return. The three of us arrived in front of my door.
"Welp, get some rest okay? We can go to the market first thing in the morning, to fetch some fresh ingredients"
My brother waved goodbye as he made himself to his own room. I immediately changed my attire as soon as I entered my room. While Ravus sat down and read some books that are on the desk. I wanted to tell him about the firework festival so that we can prepare. I stared down at my own briefcase, thinking about the plans we had for tomorrow.
"Uh...Ravus?"
He lifted his head up from the book to look at me.
"What is it, Alida?"
I approached him and took a deep breath. Ravus put down the book and waited for my response. He stared deeply into my eyes, making me even more nervous.
"The people in the village told me that there's going to be a festival in two days. I was wondering if you want to join me that day. I figured out that we could spend some time, just the two of us ."
I looked down blushing, I fidgeted waiting for his response. My head began to spin as each second passed. He then resumed grabbing my hand and stared into my eyes. He began to stand up as we locked each other's eyes.
"I would love to. Especially spending time with the woman who won my heart. I would feel bad to say no to that offer "
He stroked my cheek slowly and gently. I held his hand, motioning him to let his hand on my cheek a little longer. He kissed my forehead, sending chills to my spine when his lips touched my forehead.
"You should enjoy doing what your heart wants more. Keeping it inside will just make you crave for it more than it should be. Let's do what you want tomorrow."
I buried my head into his chest, and I hummed. As I was about to go to my bed, I slipped on the slippery wood floor. Oh yeah, I wore thin slippers and this floor is really smooth. I lost my balance and on my way on falling down onto the floor back first. Ravus rushed to me and successfully grabbed my waist, preventing me from falling.
"Watch where you step, you could get hurt. Please be careful next time, Alida"
His right hand wrapping my waist made me feel agitated. Our faces are only inches apart as he brings me closer.
"Thank you, Ravus" I smiled at him, to which he responded with a warm smile.
Before we can fix our positions, the door opened as my brother's head peeked through it
"Hey, sis. Have you seen my journal? I can't find it any-"
He paused when he realized the sight he was seeing. I panicked and froze when he saw Ravus' arm on my waist. I can feel the atmosphere getting more awkward. His face has an "I can't believe what I'm seeing" look on it. Ravus quickly let go of my waist and faced towards Hammond.
"Well...uuhhh...Oh! I just remembered that I left it on the garden table. Maybe before I go, I can give you a few tips on what you are doing with His Highness"
I stomped and turned his back furiously, making him face the hall. I pushed his back outside of the room
"Don't just barge in like you own my room! Get out!"
"I can give you an advice though, like using protection-"
"I DON'T NEED YOUR ADVICE! NEXT TIME, KNOCK ON THE DOOR FIRST BEFORE COMING IN!"
