Hammond POV

*Six days later *

Phew, finally my work is done here, after all these months traveling around. Altissia, Insomnia, Duscae, all of these places are memorable for me. I sighed as I closed my briefcase with my hand. Next stop, Tenebrae...I get to see my sister again. I stood up, leaning on the balcony railing as the city lights shone contrasted the night sky. The bustling city, people here and there, and the crescent moon high up in the sky. I held the top of my right arm, gripping on what's left. I shook in fright, remembering the night I lost my right arm. Images of memories from that night started to appear in my head. Flashing rapidly from one to another

"Alida!"

.

"Big brother! Hang on! Y-you're going to make it."

.

"HEY! WE NEED HELP OVER HERE! HURRY!"

.

"We are getting help, big brother. You are going to be fine "

I grunted in fear, traumatized from that moment.

"Hey, Hammy. Are you okay?" A delicate hand placed itself on my shoulder.

I turned to look at Callen, whose face is filled with concern. I quickly shook my head and flashed my usual grin at her.

"Naahh, it's fine, baby. Just old memories popped up in my head" I held her hand, her face still looked concerned.

"If you say so, I was just going to give you a warm SOOTHING hug. But since you're alright, guess you don't want it, or maybe?" Callen mischievously snickered at me, letting go of her hands.

I quickly looked at her when she said that. I immediately changed my mind, I let out my arms to her.

"Of couuwwsee, I want it so badly, baby" I pouted, smooching my lips.

"Come here you big goofball, I'm only doing this to make you feel at ease, got it?" She walked towards me, wrapping her hands around my body.

Her face went red, eyes still sharp as ever, turning her head away from me. It feels like heaven, usually, she does this when I'm down. Even when she likes to push me away from physical contact. It's like she has a soft spot for my agonizing self. She pulled away from me, her hair tied into a ponytail.

"Nervous for tomorrow? I mean you're going to meet my little sister after all" I asked with a smirk.

"N-no I'm not! What are you talking about?!" She yelled at me, with a flustered look.

"Just admit it to your Hammy here. You actually are nervous." I replied with a chuckle

"Hmph! Fine, it's making me fidgety and insomniac these past few days thinking about it! What if I messed up my introduction? Or if I wear inappropriate clothes for the occasion? Will she like me? Will she find me too harsh and boring? There you have it, HAPPY?" She angrily admitted it, crossing her arms annoyed.

"I knew it. I had already told you she is going to like you, maybe you two can be even closer. Besides, both of you are bookworms, you will get along just fine." I patted her head with my left hand

"Well, through your letters I can see that she is close to perfection in socializing. I couldn't help but be scared of messing up in front of her" Callen sighed heavily.

Alida is not always perfect, by seeing her act in the past guarantees it. Her insecurities are likely to consume her whole unless there's someone who she really trusts is near her. She was really anxious at everyone she met at first, but now her ways have changed. As annoying as she is, I know her best besides Ravus.
