Originally titled: "Intro: Lost Soul" Sammy struggled with this song the most. As an intro
it's supposed to give you an idea into what the album will be like. He said when asked about the intro, "I figured if I wanted to go with the whole "Hidden" theme it should sound mysterious and curious. It leaves you wanting more. That's why I had Hidden lead into Behind Closed Doors." As Sammy said the song is mysterious and leaves you curious and wanting more. The lyrics depict a terrible incident that happened in Sammy's life that he's kept hidden until now.
Behind Closed Doors
When asked about Sammy's inspiration for the song he said, "Can't You See Me by Tomorrow X Together."
"I wanted to go for a similar style of storytelling. The song itself is totally different but the way of telling the song is similar. A lot of hidden meanings and Easter eggs that me and JYP talked about and how to display them in the music video and the song itself."
Keep Us A Secret
"I had a hard time writing about my love life as well Korea really isn't an accepting place when it comes to Idol Culture. So I went the beat around the bush route. Not directly talking about it but also mentioning in a way that is digestible for fans and Netizens alike. Although I can see a HUGE scandal coming from this. The lyrics itself are very vague on who I'm taking about or who they were. It could even be about someone I'll meet in the future! You never know. *winks*
What They Don't Know Won't Hurt Them
"The song is specifically talking about a taboo relationship of two lovers who can't show their love in public because of the society they live in. So they end up dating in private and whispering, "What They Don't Know Won't Hurt Them". I wanted the song to be exciting because of the thrill of being private and sneaking around together."
Say You'll Be Mine ft Baekhyun
"Ah yes, this album is a lot about romance. *chuckles* I didn't intend to it's just JYP really liked all the songs and Stray Kids even said agreed with JYP. They liked all the songs. It was sooo hard choosing between Muddled Emotions and Say You'll Be Mine! Because both are practically the same! They have a similar concept but the lyrics and sound are different! Anyways~ this song was mainly about a guy following this other person because he wants to be with them but he can't get enough courage to say it to them. So instead he resorts in watching this person from afar longing. It's a sad ending as the person never realizes the guys affection but it's sort of a wake up call to those people who are crushing on someone but don't have the courage to announce it to that person. So I tell you, gussy up and YOLO. Go for it guys! I believe in you! Even if they don't feel the same way telling them is better than nothing!"
