By morning, Abbys condition had only worsened. Her skin was white - snow white, even whiter than Alaska's. Her entire body was as cold as ice. Her breathing had only gotten worse, along with her coughing. Her hair was now completely white.
Tears appeared in Edmund's eyes as he looked at her. She looked so terrible, and he was so scared for her. He didn't know if she would survive this. She passed out the night before, and still hadn't woken up. This only made Edmund worry more. Although, he wasn't worried if she was alive or not, her labored breathing assured him that she was, but she might not be much longer.
He held her hand tightly in his, cringing at how cold it was. He gently moved her hair out of the way to look at her chest. His plan was to look at the cut Alaska had given her directly on her heart. But his eyes went wide when he touched her chest. It was absolutely freezing -her entire body was- but her chest was somehow colder. Specifically the cut and everywhere around it. It felt even colder than ice.
Edmund slowly pulled his hand away, a single tear rolling down his cheek.
Edmund gasped as he heard the large doors open. He closed his eyes and slowly turned his head, but what he saw made his eyes go wide.
"Peter?" He asked in disbelief.
"Hey." Peter whispered. "Susan's watching the door, we need to move quickly."
Peter grabbed the keys to Edmund's cell and went to unlock it.
"Wait!" Edmund said. "Help Abby first."
"I will help her, but I want to get you out-"
"No! Peter, she is dying!"
Peter's eyes went slightly wider.
"Help her. Then help me."
Peter sighed. "Alright." He said.
He then placed the keys to Edmund's cell back on the hook and grabbed the others. (Lucky for him, they were labeled.)
Peter then walked over to Abby, kneeling beside her. "Abby." He whispered, shaking her slightly.
"She's unconscious Peter, she won't wake up." Edmund said sadly.
Peter sighed. "She looks terrible. What happened to her? And why is her hair white?"
"Alaska's been torturing her! I think she put some sort of spell on her or something. She is dying Peter. She needs help. And she needs it now!"
Peter quickly nodded, before lifting Abby into his arms. She made no movement, her body lay limp in Peter's arms. Her head fell against his shoulder.
"Okay." Peter breathed. "Let's get you out of there Ed."
But just then Susan ran up. "Alaska is coming!" She exclaimed, sounding out of breath. "I shot two of her wolves to buy time, but it won't buy much. She's sure to come here any minute."
"I got this." Peter said. "Go."
"But Pe-"
"I don't want you getting hurt. Please, Susan."
Susan sighed but in the end made her way back to the door and left, anxiously waiting for the others to return.
"I'll get the keys!" Peter said quickly.
"Peter there's no time!"
"What?! Yes there is. I'm not leaving you!"
"Peter you have to go! Abby needs help! Get her out of here, warm her up and give her Lucy's cordial."
