Peter stood a few feet away from camp. He soon spotted Sydni and Edmund when he arrived. On his walk there, he decided he should talk to Sydni first, and then Edmund. He figured he and Edmund would talk for a while, and he didn't want to make Sydni wait that long.
The two sat next to each other. Both looked very deep in thought. But they were but not talking to each other. More like, enjoying each other's company. Just being there together.
Peter looked around the camp, making sure his sisters and Anna were safe as well. The three sat together, smiling and laughing. It looked as if they were having a pleasant conversation.
Peter took a deep breath. "Sydni!" He called. His voice was loud, but only enough to be heard above the noise. Not in a rude way. He spoke in a gentle tone.
Sydni turned at hearing her name. She spotted Peter, and sighing, stood up and made her way to him.
She lightly crossed her arms as she stood in front of him.
"Can we talk?" Peter asked slowly.
Sydni nodded and followed Peter a little ways away from camp. Peter walked in the opposite direction he had with Abby, so they could talk alone.
Peter took a deep breath as he finally stopped. Sydni stopping as well, standing across from him.
"Look Sydni." Peter breathed. "I am really sorry for what I said about Abby. I know she is your friend, and it was selfish for me to say those horrible things about her. Especially because she wasn't at fault. I was. I'm sorry for yelling at you, and treating you the way I did. It was wrong. You didn't deserve any of it. I hope in time you can forgive me."
Sydni swallowed hard. "Are you, and Abby?..." She trailed off.
"Yeah." Peter said quickly. "We are all good. We talked it thorough and everything is okay. We are friends again. Or, brother and sister is more like it, I suppose. I mean since we technically are-"
Peter was cut off by Sydni wrapping her arms around his neck. He was a bit taken aback by this, but a moment later he pulled himself together and slowly wrapped his arms around her.
"Thank you." Sydni whispered in his ear. "Thank you so, so, much."
"What on earth for?!" Peter asked. He was shocked enough by the hug he was currently embraced in - that he felt he didn't deserve. Let alone a 'thank you.'
Sydni slowly pulled away so she could look into his eyes. She took hold of his hands in hers, and smiled.
"You saved Abby's life!" She exclaimed. You left your own brother, so she could live. You love your family more than anything Peter. I know you would die for all of them in a heartbeat. That couldn't have been easy. But, you did it anyway. If you hadn't, my best friend would probably be dead right now. So thank you Peter. Thank you so much!"
"She was dying." Peter said. "I couldn't just leave her there."
Sydni nodded. "I know. When we thought she was dead, you were devastated. I saw it in your eyes. It was like you lost your own sister. Because you do care about her. Even if you didn't before, you do now. You saved her. How can I ever repay you?"
"You don't need to repay me."
"I do! Peter you-"
"Sydni." Peter said gently. "I didn't save her so she would be in debt to me. I didn't save her so you would owe me one. I saved her because I care about her. I love her like a sister, and I didn't want her to die. She is your best friend. Anna's too.
You two would be devastated if she died. Susan and Lucy are close friends with her. She is Edmund's wife. She means so much to all the people I care about most. Even if I hated her -which I don't - I never would have left her there to be killed by Alaska. I just did the right thing. You owe me nothing."He slowly stroked her cheek with his thumb.
"Oh, Peter." Sydni choked. "I owe you everything."
She wrapped her arms around him again. This time she rested her head against his chest.
Peter gently wrapped his arms around her waist, and held her close. Stroking her hair.
"Especially forgiveness." Sydni breathed.
Peter's eyes went wide and filled with hope when she said this.
"I forgive you Peter. I forgive you for everything. "
Peter sighed in relief and kissed the top of her head.
"Thank you so much." He said.
Sydni nodded "You deserve it Peter. You really do."
The two slowly pulled apart.
"Does this mean," Peter said slowly. "We are back together?"
Sydni bit her lip, but she smiled as she did so. "Yes Peter." She breathed. "We are back together." She smiled.
"Yesss!!!" Peter exclaimed.
Sydni laughed.
"That means I can finally do this!" Peter said with a smirk.
Sydni looked confused. "Do wh- ahhhh!"
She was cut off when Peter picked her up, spinning her around a few times.
Once Sydni got over the initial shock, she began smiling and laughing.
About ten seconds later Peter put her back on her feet.
Sydni let out a laugh. "What was that for?" She asked, still smiling.
"That was to prepare you for this."
Before Sydni could say anything, Peter wrapped his arms around her shoulders and pulled her close. He looked into her eyes, before slowly kissing her lips.
Sydni wrapped her arms around his neck as she deepened the kiss.
About a minute later the two pulled apart, huge smiles on their faces as they rested their foreheads against each other.
"I've wanted to do that since the first time I saw you." Peter said.
"Me too." Sydni smiled.
The two finally pulled apart, still smiling.
"I'm glad we are back together." Sydni said.
"Not as glad as me." Peter said.
"Wanna bet?" Sydni smirked, raising her eyebrows.
The two laughed.
"Listen-"
"So-"The two began at the same time.
They laughed. "Go ahead Peter." Sydni said with a small smile.
Peter slowly nodded before continuing. "I really need to talk to Edmund. So do you mind if I-"
"Not at all." Sydni smiled. "I want to talk to Abby anyway."
"Perfect." Peter said.
"See you in a few minutes then?"
"Sounds good." Peter breathed.
