The bright sun beamed down into the field of flowers. Birds were singing, crickets were chirping, and rabbits were playing. And in the middle of the flower field, a toddler was lying down on his back, staring at the clouds. "Caspian! It's time to leave the park," the child's mother called. As he stood up and began his walk back to the car, he heard a small "meow". But when he looked behind him, there was nothing there. So, he didn't think much of it and hopped into the backseat of the car. As they pulled out of the park's parking lot and made their way home, Caspian's father turned around and said, "You ready for tomorrow Caspian? I can't believe my first son is going to kindergarten already. Man, time flies." The family continued chatting and laughing their whole way home.

The next day, Caspian's mother woke him up early in the morning. "Rise and shine kiddo, it's time for school," his mother announced as she turned on his room light. Caspian rubbed his eye with his tiny hand and sat up. After his mother got him dressed and fed him breakfast, she drove him to school. "Are you excited?" his mom asked. "Yeah...I am," he replied. "You don't sound very thrilled. What's the matter?" Caspian looked down and muttered, "What if...the other kids there don't like me. Because of how I look." His mother turned her rear view mirror to Caspian and said, "Honey, It doesn't matter what you look like. Your real friends will accept you for who you are, but you have to make those friends first. Also, you're my handsome baby boy, and I love you." Caspian's eyes swelled with tears and said, "I love you more."

Once they got to the school, Caspian's mom grabbed his hand and walked him to his kindergarten homeroom. "Alright, here it is. I'll pick you up later then. Have fun Caspian," his mom said as she walked away. As he waved his mother goodbye, he took a deep breath before entering the classroom. But, as soon as he walked in, all the other children immediately glanced at him, and began to laugh. Even the teacher was trying to hold in her laughter. All Caspian could do was watch as everyone laughed at the sight of him. He tried his hardest to hold back his tears, but he couldn't hold it in. As he cried his way to his seat, all he heard was giggling and the insult "elf boy" constantly. On the inside, he thought the teasing would go away after the first day. But sadly, he was wrong. Since the other kids saw how weak Caspian was on the inside, they felt as though he was an easy target to pick on. The teasing lasted for weeks, and Caspian never told his parents. He thought the students would make fun of him more if they found out he told them.
