Ever since that tragic night happened 6 years ago, Lucas had to live by himself in the mansion with his cat Smokey. Everyday, he wandered the dark halls and through the walls of the lonely mansion.
Tomorrow was his 15th birthday, but he didn't care. He thought life was pointless and the outside world was meaningless. He only leaves his mansion on nights where he needs food. With his powers, he's able to fly through the walls of grocery stores while he's invisible and sneak food out. The security guard who checked the store's cameras at night thought he was going crazy when he saw the groceries float and go through the walls.
Tonight, he was reading one of the many books in his mansion's dark library. He said to himself, "The world as we have created it is a process of our thinking. Some people may say that the splendid thing about falling apart silently is that you can start over as many times as you wish, but when someone like me digs himself into a hole, he doesn't climb out. He digs himself deeper into a fiery pit of failure as a person." He then shed a tear and wrote his quote into the book he had opened.
Suddenly, Lucas heard a loud knock on the door of his mansion. It surprised him considering that no one has ever gone near the mansion in years. Lucas walked up to the door and slowly opened. On the other side was a boy with blonde hair and light blue eyes. The boy looked nervous and chuckled. He said, "Oh, I didn't know that anyone still lived here. I'm sorry if I interrupted you, I was just curious because everyone I know calls this place haunted, abandoned, and mysterious."
Lucas looked at the boy with a cold, dead stare and said, "Life is a mystery. It needs to be unravelled, and if you spend your entire life unravelling it, you'll never get to experience it first hand. You'll just die without knowing anything about life if you don't experience one. Don't live like me, you've still got hope in your life. Don't waste your life being curious about everything. I wasted my life by wanting revenge on someone who is impossible to kill and I don't wanna wish that terrible burden upon anybody. So leave my house now."
The boy, with a concerned expression on his face replied, "But if you aren't curious in life, that means you're not living your life to the fullest. And I'm sure you haven't wasted your life yet. You look like you are about my age, so you still have alot of life yet to experience. Don't let the past stop you ever." The boy then smiled at Lucas.
Lucas had never heard such kindness or seen a smile ever since his mother was alive. Lucas didn't have anything to say. The boy then said, "Well that's all. Take care of yourself." As the boy was walking away, Lucas said, "Wait hold on. What's your name." The boy looked back and said, "Oh, my name's Timothy."
