"I look... Like a boy..." Emma cringed. I looked at my work of art. I tied her hair up in a bun and tucked it into a hat. I let her borrow a pair of my black skin tight jeans, the same as the other boys seem to wear, and gave her a black and white football jersey with the number 9 on the back. My lucky number. (A/N its my actual lucky number BTW, I don't know why, since I was born on the second.. But... Yah) The hat was facing the back with the window in front.
"Yeah, I'm not done yet..." I said handing her a pair of black Raybans. I clapped my hands together and jumped up and down happily.
"Seriously?" She said putting them on. I nodded and she shook her head. We then went to the bathroom and she checked out what I did. She actually looks like a guy. "I don-"
"Ahem. Guy voice please..." I laughed. She cleared her throat and started talking again.
"I don't think this is gonna work..." She said in a lower voice, it sounded kind of like Ashton's. Perfect.
"Trust me, these boys could walk into a wall and not even realize it..." I chuckled.
Suddenly the doorknob turned and I heard the four obnoxious boys coming in. "Hey, Madison!" Luke said. Good thing the bathroom door was closed.
I froze on my spot and so did Emma. We were both scared as hell this wasn't gonna work. Truth is, I don't like being without my best friend, so this better work or else I'm gonna kick someone in their manhood and they ain't gonna like it.
"Um, g-give me a second..." I shout back. "I'll try get rid of them." I whisper to Emma. She nodds and hides at the back of the bathroom. I throw some water in my face and dry it slightly with my sleeve to make it look like I was actually doing something.
I opened the door a creak and slid through. Since I'm quiet small for my age, it was pretty easy. "H-hey guys... What, what are you doing here?" I clear my throat and scratch the back of my head. This is bad, this is really bad... I think.
"What do you mean what we're doing here? We're crashing!" Michael crashed onto the couch.
"Wanna play some FIFA?" Calum sits next to Mikey.
"We heard you talking to yourself, so we thought we'd give you some company." Luke butted in.
"I- I wasn't talking to myself!" I defended.
"Whatever you say..." Ashton trailed.
"I wasn't! I was Skyping with Jade!" I exclaimed.
"Aw, is my sister homesick?" My brother hugged me from the side.
"No... Jade was just mad cos I didn't take her with me." I said. Lying right in his face. Good thing I'm used to lying, or I would seriously be fried.
"Aw, well don't worry. You have six months with us, you're gonna forget about your friends." Michael waved me off as he logged in to his Xbox live account.
"SIX MONTHS?!" I choked out.
"Yeah, you know, while your mom finds an other place for you and the other two to stay..." Calum took a bite of his cupcake.
"Wait what?!" I ask shocked. What did Calum just say? Ashton gave Calum a death glare and Michael elbowed him in the stomach.
"What?- wait, you didn't tell her?" Calum asks.
"Didn't tell me what?" I ask cluelessly.
"You didn't tell your sister?" Luke turns around from the floor to face us.
"Didn't tell me what? Ashton what's happening?!" I shout.
"I uh... Um... Well, you know how we've had a hard time at home with money and stuff?" Ashton gulps, me repeating the action, knowing what was coming up. Tears brimming my eyes. I nodded hinting for him to go on. "Well... Uh..."
"Just get to the point!" I exclaim, letting a single tear fall down my cheek. As a child me and my family moved a lot and even after Ashton got famous we changed a house or two.
"Mom was a month overdue with paying the rent, so you guys kind of got kicked out..." Ashton mumbled.
"But- I thought you were helping us with the money now. Can't you help mom?" I ask, not realizing that I was crying. He looked down. "No. You can't, because you're just that selfish. We left mom, Lauren and Harry homeless!" I shook my head swiftly at Ashton. "I want you all out! OUT!" I cry.
"Mad I, please no..." Ashton tried. I shook my head and pointed at the door.
"No, I can't have anymore of these secrets! I can't! I thought we told each other everything! That's how it used to be! But I guess not. You're really close to loosing my trust." The last part was really hard for me to say. But it was true. I mean I was hiding an even BIGGER lie, but still.
Ash and the boys left and I sat on the sofa throwing my head in my hands. After a few moments, I felt the couch getting lower as if someone sat next to me. Probably Emma. She's the only one I didn't send out of my room.
"You okay?" The mystery person asked. This is weird, it doesn't sound like Emma. And I'm sure that's not her guy voice either. How much better could she have become in a bathroom for less than two minutes?
"Just leave me alone..." I say, my voice muffled and cracked.
"Just... Talk to me if you need anything okay...?" He said. Then I realized.
"Luke?" I ask taking my head out of my hands.
"Yeah, that's what they call me.." He chuckled. He loomed like he was about to stand up, but I guess I kinda stopped him. "Y-" he was about to say something, but he was stopped.
"Okay, what did your brother say?" Emma walked out of the bathroom talking in a loud enough whisper. Her eyes widened and so did mine. Luke and I were both staring at her. "Wait..." She giggled nervously. "You're not alone... I can come back later, its fine..." She rushed into the bathroom and shut the door.
I turned around to look at Luke who was staring at the door in complete... Shock? Cluelessness? Probably both.
"Uh, Luke I can explain..." I say.
"Who is... That?" Luke asked shifting his amazing blue eyes to me.
"Can you keep a secret?" I let out a breath that I didn't know I was holding. He nodded slowly. "That, is my best friend, Emma." I said slowly as Emma's face popped out slowly from behind the door.
"And w-what is she doing on our tour bus?" Luke stuttered.
"Um... Well... Do you think its fair for a 16-and-a-half yearold girl to live by herself ?" I ask Luke. He shook his head. "Well that's how she lives, by herself. Her parents don't come home until late at night and they leave early in the morning. They don't wanna see her or talk to her, and I didn't wanna leave her with those people she calls parents." I state.
"But... But..." He stutters.
"Please Luke. I will love you forever if you do this for me! I'll even consider the best out if the band..." We both made puppy dog eyes and he groaned.
"Fine...." He trailed for a while.
"Thank you, thank you, thank you!" Me and Emma jump at him and crash our arms around his neck.
"So, how come Emma looks like a boy?" Luke asked. Emma and I look at each other and smile.
