Chapter 34 | Concert

Author's Note: I don't know if Japanese people sing English Christmas songs or not, but since I'm American and I don't know any Japanese songs or anything, I'm just going to stick with English Christmas songs lol. I apologize if you dislike this.

Note: any song lyrics that are sung are going to be bold. Normally I put it in italics but why not bold today xD.

When the group met in the lobby for the concert, Tenten explained to them the events that had happened in the past few hours. Let's just say, more than one person wants to murder Aito. Earlier, he had come knocking a few hours later, but Neji shooed him off once again. 

Ino was extremely pleased with the fact Neji and Tenten were "dating" in the public's eye. By extremely, it means that she was jumping up and down squealing about how her ship would finally come true, causing many curious pairs of eyes to turn to her. The platinum blonde reached into her purse and handed everyone a bright red bottle of...something.

"Use it for emergencies," She said, winking. However, she didn't say what was in the bottle.

The walk to the outdoor stage took around twenty minutes. There was a large space in front of the stage, which was already filled with hundreds of people. On each side of the stage stood a few Christmas trees, all lit up. The sky was getting dark. Around the perimeter of the entire area were festive, colorful lights strung up. Trees all around them were lit up as well, illuminating the city.

"A few more minutes left," Ino declared, checking the time on her phone. The group was positioned in a spot in the center, not too close to the stage but not too far back either.

"Neji!" A bunch of female voices squealed.

"Oh my goodness, Sasuke is here too!"

Neji tried to ignore the fangirls as he sniffed the bottle, wondering what the contents in it were. 

"Oh my god, look! Neji even bought me perfume!" A fangirl squealed, grabbing his wrist and holding it up. He scowled and tried to push the girl off of him, some of the contents of the red bottle spraying onto her. 

Tenten, who stood beside him, caught a whiff of the scent as it escaped the bottle. The girl that had grabbed Neji immediately began coughing and sneezing. That's what it is, she thought in amusement. Ino had given everyone a bottle of pepper spray. 

Sasuke quickly took out his bottle and glared at his fangirls threateningly. 

"Hey you ugly whore," Ami came up to Tenten and said, tapping her on the shoulder. Her outfit-of-the-day was a crop-top jacket that exposed more than necessary, leggings, and ten pounds of makeup. She then turned to Neji, batting her eyelashes. 

"Go away Ami."

"You should be telling Miss Ugly here that," She said sweetly, her voice dripping with venom. "She's such a slut. First she sleeps with you, then Aito, and then you again? Oh how-"

"Listen up," Tenten snapped, "I don't know where the hell you got the crazy idea that I've had sex with anyone, because I've never had in my entire life, so go bother someone else."

Ami tilted her head and frowned. "Hmm. Aito told me himself-"

"He did what?!" Neji asked, whirling around to face her. "What did he tell you?"

"Well, besides what I've said already, he also told me that Tenten told him she often slept with hot guys on campus just for fun-"

"I've done no such thing!"

"Pfft, sure," Ami muttered in reply. "In my opinion you're just some slut trying to steal my Neji."

Tenten scoffed at the woman. "Have you seen yourself..."

Suddenly, bells began to ring.

"Ooh, it's starting!" Ino squealed in happiness. She turned around, spotted Ami, and frowned. Need help? She mouthed to the brunette.

Tenten shook her head in reply, ignoring Ami and turning back to the stage. The bells were still ringing but music had begun to start playing.

I don't want a lot for Christmas

Most of the crowd began to sing along, including some of the people in the group.

Naruto and Kiba both decided to sing the 'you' in a loud voice, managing to hold their off-key note as long as the singer on stage could hold their correct note.

I don't want a lot for Christmas

I don't care about the presents
Underneath the Christmas tree
I don't need to hang my stocking
There upon the fireplace
Santa Claus won't make me happy
With a toy on Christmas day

"I just want you for my own," A male voice sang, grabbing Tenten's arm.

(A/N: Guess who?!)

Aito. Of course. Tenten thought with a grimace when she turned around and saw the man.

"More than you could ever know," He continued to sing. 

Tenten reached into her purse.

"Make my wish come true," Aito seemed to be pleading as he sang.

You asked for it, she thought. So you'll get it. She pulled the red emergency bottle out of her purse. Now was a very, very good time to use it.

"All I want for Christmas is-"

"Not you," Tenten snapped, pressing her finger down. 

Aito began to cough, his eyes watering from the pepper spray. He continued coughing as he ran off, probably to find some water. Out of the corner of her eye, she saw Ino laugh, mouthing 'you're welcome'. Hmm, I should keep this in my purse for future use, Tenten thought. By now, the song was almost over. The music was slowing down and so was the beat. 

(A/N: I know in the original song the end is very upbeat but this'll be a bit different.)

Tenten's eyes met Neji's, somehow. At that moment, both of them felt some kind of inner spark. The crowd around them faded. It seemed as though it was just the two of them and the music. They both leaned in...
