POV ni Paris

Kinabukasan,

I was busy checking my appointments when suddenly my secretary knocked and say, "Mam, may emergency meeting daw po regarding the new owner of the hotel."

"Okay, I'll be there in a minute."

I fixed the papers and myself then I walked to the elevator.

Sa top floor gagawin yung meeting. And yeah, there will be a new owner of the company. Hindi naman sa nalulugi na to kaya binenta, pero siguro, the buyer made a very good deal that made Mr. Chui, the owner, sell it.

When the elevator door finally opened, I walked in and pressed the top floor button.

Bago pa man magsara ang pinto, two men in black coats entered.

"Good morning." they greeted.

"Good morning." I greeted back.

"Has Mr. Tolentino already arrived?" the first man asked the second.

My heart almost pumped out my chest when I heard the name he mentioned.

Could it be? No. The last time I heard from Mica, Tristan is still in Italy.

I scoffed. Huh!

"Yes. In fact, kahapon lang sya dumating from Italy, at ito agad sya, aattend ng meeting. Kaya yumayaman lalo e."

Shit. Just shit. Now the impossible is possible.

When the door opened, I walked fast to the rest room.

Horses are still running in my chest.

He's not the only Tolentino who goes to Italy, right?

I breathed a deep one to hold my horses and got out of the restroom.

No need to fuss over it Paris. Whatever happens, just go with the flow. -- My conscience whispered.

There. He was there. Sitting at the middle end of the conference table.

Oh, heart, hold your horses please.

"Ms. Fajardo, finally! What took you so long?" Agad na bati sakin ni Mr. Chui. Mabait sya sakin mula pa nung una. He's half Chinese by the way.

I smiled at him. "I just had to finish some stuff. I'm sorry."

"Oh, it's okay. Go and take your seat so we can start."

I nodded and took my seat beside him. He's in the middle end too, facing Tristan.

"First of all, I want you to meet, the new owner of Faith Hotel. Mr. Tristan Marius Tolentino." he told me.

"Paris." Tristan said.

"Ano ba? Binanggit lang pangalan mo, nagwawala na puso mo?" - I mentally rolled my eyes to my conscience.

"You know each other?" Mr. Chui asked.

Of course! I know him. Every inch of his bones!

I wanted to say but instead, "Oh, of course Mr. Chui, we were college classmates." I smiled lovingly when I faced Tristan.

I saw his expression changed from civil to. . . . Sad?

Oh, please.

"Oh, good for you two." Mr. Chui said then the meeting started.

The meeting lasted for less than two hours. We talked about the new policies and the change of employees.

Mr. Chui, by the way, kindly said that I will not be kicked from my position.
