"The Volturi aren't supposed to be the villains," Eleazar says to Isla as she sits across from him in his study. "They are the foundation of our peach and civilization."

Eleazar watches as Isla sits back and gets comfortable. He reminds him of a female version of Emmett, he isn't sure how to feel about it, he finds it funny. But she's just... more eager to learn than fight. Which is great.

"The Volturi across the unofficial loyalty in the world of vampires, amd are an incredibly influential coven," Eleazar continues. "They are also considered 'nighttime patrons of the arts' as, bevauxe of their inability to sleep. They study the arts at night. The Volturi act as guardians, keeping our vamoire societnansecret from the humans as needed. They often send agents to treble from Volterra to overzealous covens from exposing vampires through mass eradication of every vampire, and human, present. Their coven has been around for over three thousand years and the largest coven known to existence follows by your coven, mine, amd the Mexican covens."

"Throughout the centuries, the Volturi have established and enforced a number of laws that all vampires are expected to obey on obey on pain of death. There aren't many but they mainly concern the secrecy surrounding the existence of our kind. They aren't written but they're passed mouth to mouth from vampires."

"Hunts must be inconspicuous, with victims unlikely to be missing; their remains must be disposed of and territory must be changed often."

"Incapable of self control, and therefore a threat of exposure, immortsl children are not to be created. Such creation is the ultimate taboo and punishable by death to both child, creator, and those who defend the child and those who know of its existence."

"Who would turn a child?" Isla gasps.

"Sick, sick vampires with no hesrts," Eleazar sneers. "Can I finish the rules, Miss cullen?" He grins.

Isla smiles. "Yes, sir. Sorry."

"Okay... carrying on," Eleazar clears his throat. "Dealing with the children of the moon, except for extermination, is prohibited. False witness, regardless of intent, is punishable by death. Hunting is forbidden in Volterra, the town of residence of the Volturi; their food is brought from the outside, some from quite far away."

"Attention should not be drawn and vampires should not be noticed in the sunlight by humans."

"The creator is responsible for his newborn's behavior and teaching of the laws before they can be released on their own, or in your case, Carlisle," Eleazar continues. "By letting a newborn hunt conspicuously, the penalty will be death to both newborn in creator. Even if the newborn is ignorant of the law, his rash acts are still punishable by death."

"Vampires' interaction with humans mush not draw wide attention. If a human becomes aware of them, the vampire at fault would be responsible for silencing that human. This mostly leads to two options: make the human turn and join the immortals or silence that human permanently. As long as attention isn't drawn widely so that prompts the Volturi's involvement, they may never find out."

"Who founded the Volturi?" Isla asks. "I'm sorry, I learn by asking."

"It's all right; we all learn differently," Eleazar replies. "Marcus and Aro Volturi founded it somewhere between 1200 and 1100bc. Caius joined them later. Their wives are Sulpicia, Athenadora, and Didyme. Didyme was Aro's sister."

"Was?" Isla raises an eyebrow.

"Marcus and Didyme got tired of the coven's warring lifestyle," Eleazar explains. "The two had planned to leave. They used a vampire named Chelsea to keep Marcus loyal to the Volturi, Chelsea has the ability to manipulate relationships. However, Didyme was found dead. They aren't sure who did it, although I have my own suspicions. Aro and Caius kept close surveillance on their own wives, Sulpicia and Athenadora."

"Carlisle was a member for a while," Eleazar says, he chuckles as Isla's eyes widen. "He left after failing to talk to them about the values of human life. I was a member of them for a while because of my ability to detect any abilities on humans and vampires.  I met Carmen there." He smiles as he mentions his wife, and it melts Isla's dead hearts. "I left with her and we found this coven. Thry took us in."

Eleazar stands and he extends a hand toward Isla. "Care for a hunt? All this talk of those men have gotten me rather parched."

Isla slips her hand into Eleazar's and he leads her out. The Cullens, all but Edward, look at her. Jasper is in a darkened corner as the others sit around. Isla is content and calm, which is a relief to Jasper after all she just learned. Jasper is beyond glad they came to Denali. He knew Eleazar would love to help a newborn learn the vampire way.

Eleazar and Isla head out into the woods with Carlisle, who decided he could also use a hunt after having to leave Forks and dealing with Rosalie's attitude. Rosalie's upset about having to leave. Carlisle is almost annoyed but he easily ignores Rosalie and her attitude, he will let Emmett deal with his agitated wife.

Isla catches a grizzly bear and turns to Eleazar. "Eleazar, I have a question for you."

Eleazar gazes with her with a caring, and fatherly way like Carlisle offen does. "What's that?"

"Will you be my vampire mentor for as long as we're in Denali?" Isla asks and Carlisle smiles a little.

Eleazar actually smiles pretty wide at this. "I would be honored to mentor you, Isla Cullen, for as long as you are in Denali."

Isla grins and she flashes back to the house to tell Jasper all about it, Eleazar chuckles with Carlisle as they slowly walk back.
