Chapter 46

It's been a few months since Isla's day of birth celebration, as everything fell back to normal arounst he castle. She is standing along side with the other guards as the kings sit at rhe wooden table in their throne room instead of in their thrones. Isla enjoys with the kings are like this instead of ruling and killing and punishing.

Caius still scares everyone but Isla. Caius knows this and it keeps him... on his toes. Isla will walk around in sundresses sometimes on her off days and it irks Caius, though Athenadora adores the girls clothing she brought back with her from Frks.

The doors suddenly open and Isla tenses. Felix nods at her, saying to relax, and she does as suggested through Felix's thoughts. Irina Denali walks in. She glances Isla's way and offers a right smile before turning to the kings.

Aro looks up from the book he was looking in and he looks at the vampire. "What a pleasant surprise."

"What do you want?" Caius asks harshly, a king Isla mentally roll her eyes as she keeps her guard mode on like the others. "Hmm?"

"I have come to report a crime," Irina claims. "The Cullens... they've done something terrible."

Aro flashes over to her and he reaches his hand out. "Allow me, dead."

Isla focuses onto them and reads the thoughts going from Irina and to Aro and her eyes widen. Why didn't jasper or Emmett tell her they changed a child? She stumbles a little and she lands agaisnt Demitri.

"Demitri, get Isla to lay down," Caius demands. "She looks... unwell but the news. She needs to rest."

Demitri nods. "Yes, sir."

Demitri places a hand on the small of Isla's back and he leads her last Irina and Aro, and out the doors.

"I can't believe it," she whispers as she and Demitri make it to her chambers. "You spoke to them, Demitri. Do you believe they'd turn a child?"

"They don't seem like the type, but Isla..." Demitri says as he kneels in front if her, Isla is sitting in the vanity chair near the door. "Be careful who you trust... the devil was once an angel."

Isla nods as her eyes flood with venom. "I video chatted with Jasper on my day of birth those months ago... why didn't no one mention it? Or is it new?"

"I don't know," Demitri replies. "What did you see in their minds? I saw you reading them, Isla, don't say that you did not."

Alice is carrying a vase of flowers into the den where Edward is playing the piano when she gets pulled into a vision. The images she sees cause the vase th slip right out of her hands and shatter on the floor at her feet.

Jasper hurries up to her. "What is it, Alice?"

"The Volturi..." Alice whispers. "They're coming for us. Aro, Caius, Marcus,"she says his name with a bit more... love to it, "the guard. And Irina."

"Isla..." Jasper looks down. "She's on the guard. She thinks...I didn't tell her of Renesme."

"Honey, come here," Bella urges as she pulls her daughter close.

"Why?" Carlisle asks the clairvoyent.

"What did Irina see in the woods?" Edward asks his wife and Jacob, Jacob imprinted on Renesme when she was still a baby.

"We were just walking," Bella claims.

"Ness was catching snowflakes," Jacob adds.

"Of course," Edward replies. "Irina thinks Renesme's an immortal child."

"Renesme was born, not bitten," Bella argues. "She grows every single day."

"So can't we just explain that to the Volturi?" Jacob asks.

"Aro has enough proof through Irina's thoughts," Edward says and looks at Jasper. "This means Isla saw it and thinks we turned a child, Jasper. You didn't tell her about Bella's pregnancy."

"Neither did Emmett!"

"Dude, shut up!" Emmett growls. "Isla is pissed and she's probably upset, I don't want to go against her when they come. She will more than likely kill me. So, please, shut up, brother. I'm scared of that little devil enough as is because I trained her to fight."

Isla joins the kings and the twins to London to father witnesses. She believes Irina's thoughts, thst her family turned a child. What else is she supposed to think when she saw the child floating in the air to catch a snowflake in Irina's mind?

They've chased down a Japanese vampire name Toshiro. They end up cornering him and Alec releases his vapor, Isla watches in awe - this is the first time she has seen Alec's gift. He's explained it to her, but it's not the same as seeing if.

"Alec?" Aro stops him and Aro looks at Toshiro.

"I will never go agaisnt you," Toshiro throws out.

"Of course not, my dear Toshiro," Aro coos. "Isla? What is he thinking?"

Isla focuses on the scared vampire. "Carlisle is expecting him, master Aro."

Aro and the others leave, letting the twins and their favorite telepath to deal with Toshiro.

"Carlisle is all but ensuring his own destruction," Caius claims.

"Sad, isn't it?" Aro asks and he watches as Isla helps the twins. "Our dear Isla has come a long way since joining us, hasnt she?"

"She glows," Caius replies. "She is happy with us, it appears, and not so happy with her beloved Cullens nor her husband for keeping such a secret from her. It is rather sad." He looks at Isla. "She deserves the world."

"And we give her just that, brother."

Caius watches Isla kills Toshiro.

"Yes, we do, don't we, brother?" Caius asks. "And all we need for our castle to be radiant is Marcus's mate, the clairvoyent, Alice."

Aro hums in agreement and watches his guards.
