Chapter 29

Isla and Alice look at each other about this vision and they zoom out to Carlisle's Mercedes after he says to take it. Jasper will stay with the family; Bella's in trouble, and she is like Isla's family. Bella jumped off a cliff, to possibly die.

Alice rushes down the roads, driving back to Forks, Washington. Leaving Alaska and Denali begins. Isla drums her fingers on the dashboard as Alice speeds doesn't he Alaskan roads heading to Washington. Alice reaches a free hand over and she grabs Isla's hand.

"It'll be okay," Alice whispers. "We'll be okay without her, I hope. We need to get Forks."

Isla nods. "I know..."

Alice drives until they get to Charlie's and they go inside. The leave the lights off but the parked across the road.

Bella walks inside and she looks back out, seeing nothing but darkness. She turns but runs into Alice, she screams out until she turns the light on, seeing Alice, and Isla not far behind her, holding her breath.

"Alice!" Bella exclaims, both human and vampire are stunned.

"You're... alive?"

"I told you she wasn't dead, sis," Isla murmurs as she gazes at her wedding ring adoringly, she misses Jasper now.

"Oh, my god, Alice!" Bella gasps amd she hugs her, tears of joy falling. "You're here..

"I heard voices - we heard voices - I didn't think to was you but... you're alone." Alice stammers.

"You keep saying that," Bella points pit.

"I saw you - a vision of you - you jumped off a cliff," Alice says. "I knew we'd be too late but..." She suddenly becomes angry. "Why in the hell would you try to kill yourself!?"

"I didn't," Bella replies. "I was cliff diving."

Isla rolls her eyes, she knows Paul does it, but Bella? "Why?" She asks.

"Um,., for fun?" Bella shrugs.

Isla snortd. "Thst was fun for you?"

"Until I hit the water," Bella replies.

"I have never ,Er anyone more prone to life-threwateninf idiocy...." Alice hisses. "And what is that awful wet dog smell?"

"I thought I was the only one that smelled it," Isla comments. "Is that what you mean by the wolves stink?" She asks and Alice nods.

"Oh... that's probably Jacob," Bella replies. "He's kind of a werewolf."

Alice then looks horrified. "Werewolves are not good company to keep."

"They're not vicious," Bella says.

"Until they lose their tempers," Alice replies.

"They saved me from Laurent," Bella says, "they're protecting me from Victoria..." Bella flinches when Isla growls viciously at the name.

"Victoria?" Alice asks, shocked, she looks at Isla and back to Bella. "I didn't see her. I didn't see you get pulled out of the water, either."

"It was Jacob who saved me," Bella claims. "More then once. I couldn't have made it without him. Hou have  no  idea what it's like."

She looks at Isla and back to Bella. "Yes, I do. I knew leaving wouldn't be good for you. I tried to tell Edward, but he wouldn't listen."

Bella hesitates. "Does he know you guys are here?"

"No," Isla sneers. "He's been away. Even missed my wedding."

"Isla," Alice sighs. "Don't hold s grudge."

"Edward missed his niece's wedding, acres him," Isla snaps. "No offense, Bella."

"Um... congrats on your wedding," Bella says shyly.

Isla smiles then, remembering her wedding. "Thank you, Bella."

In Alaska, Rosalie grabs a phone and she walks to the window. She watches as Emmett, Jasper, Carlisle, and Esme hesd into the woods to hunt. She dials a familiar number and she listens to the trilling.

"What?"

"Wow, Edward finally answers the phone," Rosalie says sarcastically. "I feel so honored..."

"I'm hanging up now."

Rosalie turns away from the window. "Wait! You should come home," she says and gets no response. "Esme's a wreck, Isla has been depressed since you missed the wedding, Carlisle hasn't smiled since the wedding day. Even Emmett's depressed. You've really done a number on them."

"I'm sorry," a pained Edward claims. "But they wouldn't be happier with me around. Trust me."

"I just... I just miss... us," Rosalie claims. "The family."

"I know," Edward says. "But the further away I am, the safer Bella will be. She deserves a shot at a normal life..."

"But see, you don't have to worry about that anymore..." Rosalie lets slip. She stops as she pales more, realizing the mistake she might be making.

"Why, Rose?" Edward asks. "Did something happen?"

"I... uh..."

"Tell me, Rosalie," Edward demands. "Tell me!"

"Alice had a vision!" Rosalie blurts. "She saw Bella - throw herself off a cliff...she's dead, Edward."

Edward reels in the apartment he's in. "I... don't believe it."

"Alice and Isla are there now," Rosalie claims, missing Isla. "Thought they could help with the funeral or something. Come home, Edward. It's time... Edward...?" She gets disconnected and her face falls.

"Crap," she mutters.
