Chapter 9

                        "Make sure I get your permission slips," Mr. Molina announces.
                        The junior and senior classes are taking a trip to a green house today and Isla is just glad to be getting away from the school. Isla has Anne meet her at the local diner in Forks the previous night to sign her permission slip and gave it to mr. Molina as soon as she arrived this morning to the parking lot of the school.
                   Isla looks over towaed Bella's truck and she looks at the skid marks left by the black van, and remembers everything she's learned. Vampires are real. She looks at the side of Bella's truck and sees a rather large dent. 
                    Isla smiles as her great-great uncle arrives with jasper and Alice. Alice amd Jasper have been best friends since they found each other. It's sweet. Jasper walls over to Isla and he takes her face between his hands, and he kisses her lovingly.
                    "This is why I like her," Rosalie says to Emmett from the door of their bus. "Jasper is more alive."
                      Jasper pulls away and hugs Isla, stuffing his face in to her neck and inhaling, smiling at the calm feeling he is feeling himself. Edward is talking quietly with Alice, his head is down. That is until Mike brings up prom to Bella, and Edward's he'd snaps up.
                     "Isla, I've been meaning to ask you sooner," Jasper says as he pulls his face away from Isla's neck and he looks into her eyes. "Will you go to prom with me?"
                      "Yes," Isla replies instantly. "You finally get to see me dressed up."
                      Jasper kisses her forehead. "Yes, I do."
                     The Cullens and Isla get onto the bus. Edward sits beside Alice while Jasper places himself beside Isla, like he usually does. Rosalie is with Emmett. Isla is the only human on this bus with the coven of vampires but she has never felt more safe. Not even on the reservation.
                     At the greenhouse, mr. Molina and a tour guide lead the students through the greenhouse, a dozen or so at a time. Jasper holds Isla's hand in his own while Edward walks wirh Alice. Isla keeps seeing Bella look at Edward, and she can't help but smile mentally. Edward finding someone and making them her aunt. And that someone being Bella Swan? Isla isn't sure how she feels about Bella, but the brunette has never said anything out of the way to the blonde.
                     Mr. Molina stops at a decomp barrel and Isla stops in curiosity, she's curious. Hes egging Eric into putting his arm into the barrel of compost.
                    "C'mon Eric," mr. Molina encourages, "stuff that compost dowm deep..." Molina grins as Eric does as instructed. "That's it..."
                        Isla smiles in fascination as the machine begins to spin and gurgle. Isla isn't much of a green thumb, she is willing to admit that, but she gets the science of the machines like this. When she gets out of school, Isla wishes to gonto college to either become a mechanic engineer for a rocket or a plane, or a scientist. Science is like an art to Isla.
                      "Now Tyler," mr. Molina says as he removes a glass of a steaming liquid from a nozzle on the machine, "take a big steaming cup of compost tea. This is recycling at its most basic level... hey, don't drink that!"
                       "You look fascinated," Jasper points out as he falls into pace with Isla. "You want to be a gardener?"
                        "Oh, heavens no," Isla replies. "I was fascinated by the science of the machine and the recycling and things. I want to be a scientist." She looks ahead at them and the blooming couple is talking. "Edward and Bella, kissing in a tree," Isla sings with a grin.
                     Jasper shakes his head in amusement before draping an arm around Isla's shoulders. Isla grins as she leans into him. Jasper smiles at Rosalie, who has sent him a large grin. No one is used to seeing Jasper with someone... he usually always isolates himself; but since he's met Isla, he hasn't been lonely and it has helped the family and Jas grow closer.
                    When the couple leaves the greenhouse, there are students looking in a box with the compost worms. Isla grimaces in disgust as she stays close to Jasper. This makes the empath laugh a little as they cross the lot. Jasper and Isla bet onto their bus as Edward has a heated conversation with Bella. Alice gets up and skips off the bus.
                   "The bus is leaning," Alice says to Edward and she turns to Bella. "Hi. Will you be riding with us?"
                    "No," Edward demands, "our bus is full."
                      Isla notices the look on Edward's face and opens the window and pokes her head out. "Bella! Hello, neighbor! Come over later and meet my dogs, yeah?"
                    Bella agrees and Edward gives his niece a pointed look. Isla shrugs with a huge smirk before re-entering the bus, and closing her window. Emmett is laughing obnoxiously loud, that is until Rosalie growls at him to stop being so loud, then he chuckles softly as he shakes his head at both blondes.
                  Isla goes to her kitchen at home and she pours her dogs some food and water before opening the backdoor. She walks around and she cleans up after Rosa. Emmett has promised to take Rosa this weekend and to help potty train her to use it outside instead of all over the house.
                    Bella does come over at around 7:30, right as Isla finishes cooking some spaghetti and veggie sauce. Isla runs to the door, her bare feet hitting the wooden floors and she opens the door and invites Bella inside to eat. Bella follows Isla to her dining room, and sees two german shepherds eating.
                  "They're cute," Bella compliments.
                   "This one's Ronny," Isla points him out. "He's house broke and a big baby. The little one is Rosa, she's still a baby. She still needs to be house broke. They're my best friends. Apart from Emmett Cullen. He's a big kid, too."
                    Bella only smiles, she had forgot how close Isla is with that family. "What did you make?"
                   Isla plays a plate of pasta and sauce in front of Bella. "Spaghetti and veggie sauce. I didn't feel like meat today."
                   Bella is relieved and she thanks Isla. Isla makes herself a plate and sits. Ronny takes off into the fenced in back yard, Rosa follows him to play and hopefully use the bathroom in the yard instead of waiting until Isla is asleep and uses it in a floor somewhere in the house.
                   Isla walks Bella to the door when they finish eating. "I'll see you at school, Bella."
                     Isla locks up and whistles for her dogs to come back in. She locks the backdoor and she cleans up on her house before heading to bed.
