Piero's POV:

The man that entered my room came with news and I could tell it wasn't good ones. His face seemed pale and the way he whispered his motive to come in was a bit strange.

"Esther escaped prison."

I overheard him say as I tried tickling Victor in the belly.

"She what!"

"Luna? What's wrong?" I asked as I tried to sound calm but internally I was hoping for it to be something else.

"Ummm... Really Carlo? You had to tell me this now?" She turned to face me for a second and turned back.

"Mr. Barone, don't you worry. It's something work related." The man said, ignoring what Luna had asked him.

"I heard Esther's name. What about her?" I asked, trying to see if I had really heard right. I then noticed how Luna just sighed and then turned around.

"Yes. Apparently Esther escaped from prison. But don't worry, we'll find out where she is soon and get her back in jail." Luna said and quickly turned to face the man named Carlo. "Do you still have those cousins in the police here in Rome?"

"Yes, they still are. But what about them?" The man asked.

"I would like to talk with them and their teams. I have to figure out a plan in mind but first I need to get Piero's family to safety." Luna said and that got me very worried.

Luna's POV:

"She's after me isn't she? She wants to find me no matter what." Piero said as Carlo quickly left the room and called his cousins.

"No, Piero. She's not going to find you and I will not let her even get near you. I promise that." I told Piero as I cupped his face with my hands.

"Then why did you say you have to get my family to safety? You know she's trouble." Piero said.

"Yes, we both know and now the authorities will be in the lookout for her. That was the first thing I thought of and well, you are included in there too." I said.

"Mommy... is everything alright?" Victor then interrupted.

"There's a bad guy that got away and we have to find where this guy went." I tried to explain to Victor while glancing over to Piero.

"Oh, I know mommy will catch that bad guy in no time, so Pappa doesn't have to worry about that." Victor said.

"Why do you say that Piero doesn't have to worry?" I asked him.

"He looks scared. But it's okay, mommy takes her promises to heart and does them." Victor said and then hugged Piero once more. I could tell he was a bit less worried about it when he hugged Victor back.

"V. Let's go with grandma and see if she has any candies in her bag." I told him and helped him get off from the bed. Carlo happened to be outside the room and told him to take him to Eleonora.

I went back inside and sighed as I closed the door behind me. Piero only sat in his bed looking frustrated. "Can you really tell I'm scared?" He then asked me.

"Oh." I felt sympathy for him and sat next to him on the bed. "It's okay to be scared. Anyone would feel the same, but it's not something you should be worried about. Leave it all to me and I'll solve like it was just a few moments ago."

"I'm not scared of me anymore. Now I'm scared of Victor. If Esther finds out we have a son she will turn the tables on us and go for Victor instead. And that I won't allow it." Piero said and I could tell he wanted to cry so I quickly leaned in to him and hugged him.
