Piero's POV:

I was feeling anxious. I couldn't hear anything downstairs. Thankfully Victor fell asleep and I was sitting in the edge of the bed for Ignazio to come and tell me I could leave the room.

Something just told me that this silence wasn't something good. But I couldn't do much since I promised Luna to stay quiet up here.

*Downstairs*
Luna's POV:

"You're lying. Piero is here isn't he?" Esther said after a couple of minutes mumbling to Carlo over in the kitchen. I had stood still in place just a few steps away from Ignazio. I realized I had my gun in my police belt so I tried going there slowly. That's when she spoke and I might have jumped a bit.

She now headed towards me and grabbed my hair... Dragging me to where I wanted to go. She pushed me against the armrest of the sofa and I leaned in it. I quickly slid the gun in my pants under my shirt and then huffed at her really mistreating me.

"He isn't here. What do you want me to do or say? Ignazio even told you that Piero is with his parents." I repeated myself. I knew she wasn't really having it so I only sorta stood and sat there while she went crazy.

"Carlo... I don't trust this bitch. Go upstairs and check if no one is in any room." Esther said.

"Let me check from the outside first." Carlo said and he took a walkie-talkie and ordered an update. But of what?

"All the lights are as they are. None have been turned off." I overheard someone say on the other side of the talkie.

"I'll take a quick look. You heard there's no one in the rooms." Carlo told Esther.

"You go. I'll keep my eyes on these two. This guy won't go anywhere." She said and then looked at me. Carlo then nodded and went upstairs. My hands began to sweat as I was afraid of Carlo finding Piero and Victor.

I looked over at Ignazio as Esther walked Carlo to the stairway. His eyes told me the same feeling as I had. Piero was in trouble.

"So!" She then said out of the blue and turned to see me. "Shall we look around down here in the meantime? I think yes."

I fixed my gun in the back of my shirt as I saw how she slowly walked around the living room. "Hmmm. Do you love Piero?" She suddenly asked.

"I don't know... Do you call all this love for Piero?" I replied.

"I asked because I see no picture of him anywhere." She glanced over at me and continued to look at the pictures on top of the fireplace. "But as it seems you don't love him like I do."

"This... What you're doing isn't love but obsession and caprice. Someone who truly loves another person doesn't go to this extent in basically hunting them and their loved ones." I said.

She scoffed once more and kept looking at the pictures. "This little guy... Victor I believe his name is... Is he yours?" She changed the subject.

"Yes. Why do you care?" I replied.

"He looks like you but not to that guy in the floor."

"That guy has a name and it's Ignazio. And for your information you are intruding my home and privacy which clearly you didn't come for." I said. I think I triggered her with my words since she stopped in the spot.

Just as she turned and was about to charge my way, a loud thud was heard upstairs. We both looked up above our heads, that's when my eyes widen and I didn't get Esther from my sight.

"What's going on up there?" Esther asked. She quickly turned and walked towards the stairway. "Carlo! Is everything alright up there?" She shouted up.
