Jennie

Five years later...

I lay still.

"Get up. Now."

I do as I'm told. "Sir, I didn't-"

I have no shame. I have no pride. I have no sense of self.

"You seem... more broken than usual." It's an observation.

She broke me three years ago.

The light I had has nearly been snuffed out. I haven't decided yet if she likes it that way or not. I haven't decided if I'll care.

"What did you eat today?"

I hate it when she does this. Her soft tone. Sometimes I forget what she's done. What she does to me. The circumstances in which in here.

I shouldn't be alive. But she told me she would let me die. She said I didn't deserve it yet. I hadn't suffered enough.

She's agitated today. I can tell by her slightly tense shoulders. I'm too late in my observation because she's already slapped me.

My face flames instantly, my head snapping to the side.

"You answer me when I ask you a question."

"I had toast and bacon, Sir," Is my robotic answer.

I turn off the feelings inside. Deadening my body. My thoughts cloud, my eyes blur, my senses dull.

"I'm sorry. I didn't mean to hit you."

"If I was really sorry. Would I do it again, Kiska?"

"Yes sir," I say

Lisa smiles. "You used to be so... spirited. So full of life." I swallow roughly as she touched my face with the back of her hand.

"Now you're dull, limp. Like a doll."

I stare at her blankly, my eyes hooded in perpetual numbness.

It's like I've been in cold for so long, I can' feel my face. It's frown. So I strip naked, and embrace the cold with open arms, as it rots me.

"I will let you see him today. If you are on your best behavior. We are going out today."

I mask my reaction. She'll really let me see him?

"Yes, Sir."

"Good. Get dressed, little doll. We have a long drive."

I do as I'm told. I can't slip up. I want to see him. Lisa will never let me see him if I fall this time.

I get dressed, and Brat comes to pick me up and take me to the car.

Lisa is already waiting there. We drive in silence for a while, nothing but the engine, and a large stretch of road.

Until out of nowhere, the car crashed, Lisa, taking the most impact. I cry out in pain, my eyelids drooping.

The car catches fire, but I don't move. Light beams behinds my kids, and I'm being pulled from the wreckage, salvaged from the burning ruins.

(A/N: This isn't Russian)

"Take her..."

"Are you sure..."

"He'll be most interested"

"Fine"
